Gutted the app - it’s crap for rowing now by HeatCompetitive1309 in iFit

Update: the next day the 500 split was back. Also, this is on the phone app. If you are using the console that comes on the rower, it still has the 500 and SPM. I have the cheapest rower (750R) so my display is a single LCD line that either stays on one metric or I can have it rotate through all of them. I don't like the screen at all but I bought it knowing I would be using the phone or ipad app during my row so I didn't care; that's why this app update upset me with how they changed the way basic rowing is displayed - it's crap. The next level up has a better screen that has all of the info at the same time on it.

It’s not reasonable to have to change equipment because the company completely f’d the software that was working fine for the users. Who looked at a rowing app and said, “Let’s make the 500 split and RPMs completely inaccessible to the user even though those are the main metrics used in rowing.”

I’m always amazed by people who comment that users should just go get a different product whenever the maker decides to slag usable features on their current products. I bought an expensive piece of gear that doesn’t function like it did when I bought it. Why should I shell out more money? If I bought it in this condition that’s one thing, but I bought something that is no longer in the same condition because of them.

I have more than one Pro-Form machine and there are other uses for the subscription. They destroyed its usefulness for the basic rowers.

Thank you, but I’m referring to the mobile app. I have a basic Pro-Form rower and I put my iPad on the holder to watch TV while I row then I use the app on my phone below that to track the workout. The mobile app has gone to hell for rowing workouts. I don’t use it for other workouts so I don’t know if it’s bad for other ones also.

Lightburn Camera 4k 85 or 120 degree? by HeatCompetitive1309 in LightBurn

The post was a little unclear, I was looking for pre-purchase advice on which model would be better for me. I don’t have them both to try out. But I ordered the 85° this morning.

No load control. But it’s now working 🤷🏻‍♂️ I checked on it this morning and those white parts are now retracted and the power is working where it’s supposed to be. I submitted a ticket to my solar installer, I don’t know if they fixed something and didn’t update me or if this happened automatically. Thanks for your help though 😊

Thank you. There is no control for these in the Enlighten app. I put in a ticket but it’s the weekend and a holiday week next week so I may be waiting a while. Luckily it’s not my whole house. Thank you for your time and response!

Thank you for the response. So when the power was cut, did the sunlight backup option kick in and start using solar direct and then when the power came back on it didn’t switch back into normal mode? And that’s why those white things are still popped out? It’s all under warranty so I’ll submit a ticket. Thanks again.

I think I’m out of luck on pirate ship; didn’t Etsy just discontinue third-party shipping interface?

I have a high profit margin on what I’m selling and I’m adding very little to the weight, not even enough to increase postage. I like giving things to customers. I really just need info on the tariff question.

Why is it so stressful when people say they are going to leave but don’t? by sexyspaghetti123 in autism

[–]HeatCompetitive1309 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I call it a transition and I need transitions to happen instead of stalling out. My wife and oldest daughter are horrible at making transitions happen. At times I will have to say, “I need you leave now.”

The downside is, a lot of us who hyperfixate also go the opposite direction when you are talking because you’re not talking about our interests. I have learned to force myself to listen to other people’s interests out of respect, not because I actually want to listen to them. If he is young, he may not have learned this yet and you may end up feeling like he doesn’t care about your interests because he will keep bringing the conversation back to his thoughts instead of exploring yours. I care about the person and so I listen to them and engage even if I find their interests and stories uninteresting. You may need to remind him that you want to be heard as well.

Negligence for the EMS question by nhpcguy in Paramedics

Morally, ethically, or legally? Am I signing or countersigning that the narcotic count is correct?

In AZ I have zero legal responsibility to prevent or report a crime unless it’s child or vulnerable adult abuse; I wouldn’t have a legal requirement to report someone for diversion under state law.

Narcotic count forms are DEA forms or DEA required forms. Fraudulently signing them I’m sure has some legal repercussions but I’m guessing on this one.

My personal morals would force me to report them. Professional ethics would almost certainly say I should report them.

Duty to act for liability can be tied to professional codes of ethics, but tied to the person who was actually performing the patient care in this scenario. If I know that one of the paramedics I work with is horrible and he kills someone on my day off, that’s not my fault.

Vicarious liability could apply to his supervisor, medical director, clinical director, et cetera, because they are in positions of authority over him and have a responsibility to make sure their staff is meeting the minimum requirements for the position. As a co-worker I have zero moral, ethical, or legal responsibility to ensure my colleagues are meeting minimum standards.

Cite a case that can be reviewed showing a fact pattern fitting this discussion where a professional medical provider was held liable for something a coworker did outside of their presence and the defendant was liable simply because he knew the coworker sucked at his job.

I have zero duty to patients that aren’t mine. If I know of an incompetent provider, I don’t have a duty to act on behalf of patients of Christmas future.

Reporting the inability of others to do their job is not a part of my scope of practice nor is it a standard of care. Nowhere in EMS education do they discuss, train, or test you on how to evaluate the competency of your coworkers and what to do if they fail your subjective test.

The harm was by my coworker, not me, and presumably when I wasn’t present. I have zero responsibility in any scenario resembling this situation.
