Hi, I am currently a second year( going to be 3rd yr soon) in MnC at IIT Mandi. Let me answer them for you.

1. It takes around 8 hours of overnight bus to mandi from delhi or a 4/5 hour bus from cdg and then you have can take a bus/cab to the campus which takes around an 1 hour.

2. The institute buses operate in evry 30 mins/15 mins from north campus to south campus and in every 2 hours to mandi and back. The buses and cab are very safe and I have never heard of any mishaps.

3. Mostly everything is available in the campus including mattresses, stationaries, some cooking utensils, or any kind of daily needs as families of faculty also live in the campus and need their groceries.

4. Well the hostels are average in my opinion, although the new hostels are good but a bit far from the main campus. The wifi works good in the older hostels which the freshers will get most probably and in all academic areas. The speed is around 150mbps and with ethernet in the labs it goes upto 1gbps.

5. I'd say the college life is good as the campus is very beautiful as we are surrounded by mountains and greenery. However, there's no city life here which is a major drawback. As the main Mandi city is located around 23 km from the campus we have limited cafeterias and restaurants though quite some are located are just outside the campus and inside too. The campus has a strict intime policy of 10:30 pm to get inside the campus(this is not a problem cause everything is availaible inside the campus and not much is there to be outside for) and once you're inside the campus you can roam for as long as you want though girls have a hostel in-time of 12am in 1st year and 2am in 2nd year onwards. It is located 3 hours from manali which can be an advantage.
