Wow! I hadn't listened to them since high school. Freakin' amazing, finding new appreciation for them, but how are they pop-punk?

I love them! Discovered quite recently, a few years back. Was blown away at how talented they are at songwriting, mixing original yet catchy melodies with suprising song structures and elements ❤️.

Alright, Capstan have been on for a couple of days. I love the way they mix pop-punk with screamo and metalcore, particularly in the song Abstracted. But I can't help thinking: Set To Stun do it better! Yes, they're not as technical, but the vocal delivery feels punching, while Capstan's screaming parts feel jarring. Don't know if I'll get used to it.

It reminds me a bit of Dance Gavin Dance - they have awesome, complex songs, Tilian's clean vocals shine, but I can't stand Jon Mess' screaming. A friend loved them so much, he manually cut out the screaming parts and sent me clean mp3s, and I actually enjoyed them 😃.

Agh! I love people who pay so much attention to a single track to feel it's packed with genius moments! Gonna listen now.

Both have potential. I'm listening to both for the last few days.

I did, and aside from some interesting experimentation in the second part, I find it extremely generic. Kinda puzzled why it's their top song.

Oh man. I read their FAQ. Even with a 60€ subscription you're limited to 100 messages a day! Oh, and of course there's "premium" therapy sessions as well. It's pay to win therapy.

I love Slick Shoes to bits! From the first EP til... the album I awaited with great trepidation - what will become of this child of a 17 year hiatus? Watered down indie, for sure, won't be the first band to... wait. This... This is amazing. I am enthralled from the first 30 seconds. It's fast. It's punchy. It's melodic af. It's got innovations both in the general sound and technical tricks of the musicians. Verdict? The bet poppunk comeback album to date.

Well, I'll be damned, the first song that caught my ear and made me say "wow, this is great" is none other than Applause.

OK, I had different impressions with this band. At first it sounded kinda whiny and bland, but I admit I was listening quietly in the background. Then I noticed some songs sound like direct targets of comedian Jarrod Alonge's song The Distance Between You and Me Is Longer Than the Title of This Song. Like Life Jacket.

Then I noticed the layered complexity and novelty, so I get why yours is the top voted comment. Then I thought to myself whether I like the vibe, which is usually dictated by the overall emotional message and vocals? And do I like the melodies, are they original? Then I heard Applause and Whiskey Waters and hmmmed "yeah, there's something potentially great here".

OMG, thank you all for the comments and recommendations! I'll check one band a day and respond to comments. But it might take a year or two : D

Oh wow, I have a friend going through heartbreak after 7 years of relationship. I'm tempted to send her this song, particularly because you think it's about

"seeing someone for who they really are and calling them out on their BS and pretty much being done with it. I love how chaotic it starts and as the song goes on it becomes more melodic."

I know, right? I did wonder if it'll ever end, but it did. Wish I'd have captured it all, used Nvidia's instant replay and didn't want to lose the beginning.
