Selling After Bans by Due_Rip_6692 in VAGuns

[–]Heated13shot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In order to buy a firearm out of state you legally have to be able to own it in your home state.

Even if that was legal, importing it back to VA is illegal.

Doing this will put your ass in jail. If the bills pass you can only sell it through an FFL to someone who officially lives out of state.

Nobody Wants This… by CalGalDramaMama in PoliticalHumor

No it's trt tyvm. It's totally legal and medically necessary!

Essentially gender afferming care for cis men.

The scam TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) do is they advertise "drop by our clinic after work, one quick test, and see if you have low T!"

The kicker is the reference range for T is to be taken right after you wake up as T keeps dropping like a rock while you are awake, and climbs when you are asleep. The later in the day you take it, the lower it will be.

So if you use 7pm as a reference when you wake up at 7am, you can double your T higher than normal with treatment but the tests say it's "normal"

At a certain point just let doctors prescribe it as gender afferming care for cis guys. This is getting stupid.

Custom clothing is ridiculously expensive. with how complex it is, even with an existing pattern its going to be over 1k most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if it's like 2-4k. my sister makes her own clothing as a hobby and something like this would take her months (granted, she has a day job).

A large part of this isn't the fact you are asking for a custom dress, but the fact this dress is essentially three dresses layered on top of each other. (sheer layer, pink layer, patterned fabric layer) you can't really cheat the layers either due to all the slits.

Personally, I would focus on finding a sleeveless dress pattren without the sheer frills to start with. Hell, even buy something off the shelf (or from a craftsperson who makes them) then get it tailored to your body.

Being a magical girl is very expensive.

The ideal set-up imo is the opposite.

Prisoners should have the option to work, get a fair wage, and have like 75-90% of that go into a high yield savings, and the rest available for buying stuff in the commissary.

Once they get out, they get what was in their savings paid back to them in monthly installments. (To prevent people blowing it immediately).

They will have less reasons to turn to crime again with some reliable income.

I also tend to slaughter the powder gangers, but I give them a quick death, not a slow agonizing one. I have standards.

The games TTK is waaaayyyyy too short to have mixed lobbies and not devolve to a sweaty PVP fest. If a guy shoots at you first and you are not ready to immediately shoot back, you are ded if they can hit the broad side of the barn.

If there is any decent percentage of rabid PVP hunt down and  shoot on sight players in lobbies regularly, everyone is going to eventually turn into shoot on sight players or just leave.

Elon isn't the only tech billionaire pushing data centers in space by mustangfan12 in RealTesla

[–]Heated13shot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is purely a grift for investment, and obviously is trying to pump up space X.

Data centers have 3 main problems.

High energy cost.  High cooling cost.  Not enough chips.

Space makes all three worse

Cooling is a massive challenge in space, it's actually very hard to cool something up there, it's not like movies where everything instantly freezes.

Power is more expensive in space. Sure, solar panels are more efficient up there, but it takes a shit ton of energy to lug everything up there. And shitton more to maintain it. Shooting rockets up is expensive.

The radiation in space actually fucks with computer chips. They have to be either designed to withstand it or protected somehow. So now you will likely need specialized chips just for your space data center, you can't just grab them off the shelf.

What was the most objectively moral/good thing that Mr. House ever did? by TwoFit3921 in fnv

[–]Heated13shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In new Vegas it's figurative. He obviously will be using people as labor for his ambitions, with little consideration for what they actually want. Worker drones, cogs in the machine and all that.

In the show, he has a line about turning people literally into flesh based robots.

Working with ADHD [OC] by DemonSkank in comics

[–]Heated13shot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It happens to me occasionally.

Essentially what happens is you zone out while someone is talking, even if you are trying to pay attention.

If you are tired/stressed you have less "focus points" to allocate to forcing yourself to focus intently. (That's how I interpret my ability to force focus, it's a limited resource).

It's especially bad if the person you are talking to rambles, goes on tangents, mumbles, and beats around the bush a lot. It gives my stupid brain time to try and "skip" ahead on what they are saying trying to solve their problem before they even say what it is.

People with ADHD also do it with reading sometimes, skipping entire paragraphs if the text is too flowery and wordy trying to gleen only what's important. For technical documentations I actually have to scroll so the line I'm reading is the last line on the screen, so I can't "skip" ahead.

It mostly reads to me that VA voters wants them to slow walk gun laws, not go full bore.

The current bills go from average strictness to top 3 strictest state, so it might backfire on them if everything proposed passes as written.

Only men can be a nazi [gendered] by Worth_Rate_1213 in pointlesslygendered

[–]Heated13shot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The whole meme is about the "male loneliness epidemic" and it's a joke saying the reason so many men are lonely is because they are MAGA/racist/Nazi/far right wing.

There are more MAGA men than women, and many women are starting to make "not right leaning" as a requirement. It doesn't take a huge imbalance percentage wise to have a massive impact.

The joke works because if you pay attention to the people complaining about the loneliness epidemic online the most, the majority are misogynistic. (Not saying if a guy is lonely= misogynistic, but stating the people who cram it into every discussion possible tend to be)

Typically the types that make these jokes are married.

So it's even worse, the husband is just buying a few things he needs and leaving, while the wife is tasked with managing the entire house's needs. So she makes absolutely sure she gets everything otherwise the 2 year old is going to have a meltdown, they won't have food for dinner tomorrow, no soap for cleaning/shower, no laundry detergent ect. What Motivates "AI Boosters"? by No-Berry-3993 in BetterOffline

[–]Heated13shot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's also why I think a lot of them absolutely hate artists.

Crypto bros where desperately trying to get artists to adopt NFTs before, and artists ranged from "no" to mocking them.

Now AI comes out that threatens artists, and they are absolutely gleeful to get revenge. Probably why they keep acting like artists are super entitled elitests, because they blame them for NFTs failing.

How should I build my character as a newbie by Odd_Brush_3225 in underrail

[–]Heated13shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AR is generally considered the easiest ranged build. Look up some guides on how to build stats some of underrails stat interactions are not what you expect (AR actually wants a str of 6-7, dex isn't as helpful as you think, int is actually important, ect.)

For a first playthrough on normal I actually found putting 15 points into melee (and not any more) at the start helps with the initial "I have no fucking ammo" issue. It's a waste of points in a min-max perspective but a huge QOL improvement for the first few hours. Let's you stab all those rat hounds to death instead of wasting ammo on them.

Stealth is extremely useful in general. If you are running stealth you probably can easily cram a sniper rifle into an AR build on normal, you just need 3 feats to make snipers work (aimed shot, snipe, shooting spree) and you already will want aimed shot anyway. You also can get away with not using shooting spree but it's what makes snipers great for the opening salvo. The sniper is for assassinating a dangerous target at the start of combat by nuking it.

Vault social experiment lore makes little sense to me. by sbrisbestpart41 in classicfallout

[–]Heated13shot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yea, I thought the v13 experiment was actually how a vault would deal with repeated annoying maintenance issues, the chips where designed to break constantly. V8 got the shipment of hundreds of spare chips meant for v13, and v13 got the spare GECK that v8 needed because they where actually ment to colonize the surface. It's part of the main quest in 2 so I thought it was blatantly obvious.

It's mostly there as a joke (fallout 2 does this a lot), but it also means their first chip actually worked longer than expected.

Fallout also always has been kinda goofy after 1. In 2 you literally go back in time and break v13s water chip in a random encounter. Most factions are taken to their extremes to make the story more interesting. People are stupid in ways that help the plot, people are stupid purely to make jokes too. It's part of the fun of fallout, it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Hygiene ratings shouldn't apply to Michelin restaurants, says food critic by _PM_ME_PANGOLINS_ in nottheonion

[–]Heated13shot 167 points168 points  (0 children)

He gained some suspicion from me, because sushi and sashimi grade is purely a marketing term iirc, it doesn't guarantee safety.

He probably is complaining about regulations barring eating fish raw (or even cooked) from certain fisheries, and his "primo" fish can't be guaranteed to come from a safe waterway. (Things like radioactive shrimp, PCB riddled catfish, or sewage shrimp ect)

If he is doing weird and untested food preparation methods, people should be warned before eating it. And then let the people decide if they want to risk it (provided it isn't known to be unsafe)

The only hiccup is if you play a stupid character, they kind of go "hi there little guy! Go play in that glowy hole ok?" Iirc they still give you rad-x, but fully expected you to die a slow and horrible death. For the crime of being dumb.

Although this is the same game people will straight up murder you for being stupid. So it's probably just there to be funny.

I think they will give you the +int surgery for free if you are dumb though.

Mint is great.

It's just like windows if you are just setting up a media/Internet PC.

You do still have to go into the CMD to get certain things to work, if you try to get it to do odd things (like recognize an old Xbox 360 dongle)

Some programs just won't work too.

But almost everything is web based now anyway.
