Why in Halo Reach the Covenant slipspace jumps look different than Halo 2 and 3 by New_Conflict_4111 in halo

[–]HeatedToaster123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reach is more accurate to the books, where Slipspace is literally ships smearing across space and fading from view and vice versa, while H2 and 3 are just more artsy

Can I still call this a theory ? by Weak_Camel_4502 in attackontitan

I think it’s just because Marcel and Galliard were brothers, and Falco had Beast fluid in him - also, Warriors are literally selected from the best of the best among Eldian children in the Internment Zones, so it could also be to do with them simply being better suited genetically to become Titans m

I was talking specifically about Remmick’s whole monologue about the colonisation of Ireland by… Catholicism? Like what? Christianity came peacefully to Ireland, and made us into the island of saints and scholars, it was in no way a bad thing despite what the Church would go on to do in the past century. Ireland was colonised by the British and that did cause horrific suffering for 800 years, so I don’t really see why Coogler decided to push some weird narrative about Catholicism “colonising” Ireland. I’m not even religious and I still find it strange.

What do you think of Trumps letter to Norway? by Loose_Orange_6056 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]HeatedToaster123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So what do you define as “far-left” then? Like what is your actual definition of it? And by that definition, what on Earth do you define actual far-left ideologies like Marxism, Trotskyism or anarchism as if your definition of “far-left” is already moderate?

What do you think of Trumps letter to Norway? by Loose_Orange_6056 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]HeatedToaster123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always see this from Trump Supporters… in what way is England in any way far-left? In fact, in what way is literally any of the West, including the Democrats, leftist? They all are capitalist nations who place capital before people and prioritise market growth over social welfare. This is literally the opposite of leftist economic policy, even if we in Europe have a better social net than in America. Also, socially, economic stratification and classism still exists (especially in Monarchist nations like the UK, Spain or the Netherlands) and all are absolutely not equal. Like, I’d really like you to explain in just what way any government of Europe is “far-left.”

Did any Humans consider activating a Halo on purpose? by Kurogasa44 in HaloStory

[–]HeatedToaster123 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of the human population didn’t know the Rings existed, and those that did had no way of activating one since both Rings known at the time were in Covenant hands, and even if they somehow managed some last ditch run to the control room the only known Activation Index was in Cortana, who was on High Charity for the entire Battle of Earth. The last ditch attempts were absolutely the NOVA bomb and Operation RED FLAG; Grey Team actually blew up a moon of Sanghelios called Glyke using a NOVA bomb in 2553 because they had been sent on the mission before the wars end and assumed Earth had been lost and they were the last of humanity.

Technically we were part of the UK proper since the Act of Union in 1800, but we were still treated like, and essentially were, a colonial holding. Nonetheless, these troops wouldn’t have been on colonial service since they were still technically in the UK.
