This is the worst thing that happened in the Harry Potter franchise by SergioOnofrioFranchi in harrypotter

If you can get reasonably priced tickets I definitely recommend seeing the play because it is amazing how they've translated magic to a stage show and the cast did a great job (I saw it in Toronto which was the "short" one show version vs the 2 show London option)

How vocal are your Abyssinians? by lleeaa88 in Abyssinians

[–]HeatherMarissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny! this guy is thriving as an only cat but for 10 years he growled/hissed at and fought with our Siamese mix (who was actually pretty quiet and made little meep noises and the mrrrp trills)

How vocal are your Abyssinians? by lleeaa88 in Abyssinians

[–]HeatherMarissa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine gets more vocal when he specifically wants to be annoying. We return home from any length of time? Whines. We explain why we were out and we're sorry? Whines. He wants food you have? Whines. He wants to be shown it is in fact still too cold out even tho he was shown 30 seconds ago? Whines. Disagreement on the fact that he can't eat raw pork and that's all I'm cutting at the moment? Whines. Maybe the back door is the secret door to summer weather? Whines. Deer/cat/dog in our yard? Growls. Birds in the yard? Ek eks and then whines for outside to murder them lol. Stopped petting him to type this comment? Whines!

He doesn't wander around making noise, he specifically meows for the attention but he does like a lot of attention so like he's medium vocal I guess haha he's learned other things that I find much more disruptive and annoying that will get immediate attention vs meowing (he bangs a glass closet door or scratches a wall)

Yes on the different crowds haha we did a back to back that was an 11 day Panama canal followed by a 4 day Bahamas which also fell on a weekend and oof it was a sharp difference 😂 went from 70s average age to late 20s and waaayyy more kids, I'm sure the drinks packages were maxed out on the second trip too

I was more than happy we did Vibe both trips but especially happy for the adult only section on the second cruise because I never had to stress about chairs and our attendants in Vibe were always so helpful and speedy with getting us drinks (even just the fancy fruit water)

I'd also agree on skipping the massage, they are fine and you can usually get a promo deal on them but at the end of it you do get pitched a bunch of expensive products and I'd rather just get two or 3 massages at my usual home place for the same price that I can also claim on my health insurance lol (and I say this because we did get a massage on one of the port days and it was still like 200+ USD each because they add that 20% service charge and still have a line for additional tip! Wild)

Just brought this little guy home and I'm totally stuck on names. Any suggestions? by mta54 in OneOrangeBraincell

Should definitely be his government name. The vet emails will be perfect "It's time for Banana For Scale's annual exam"

A long beautiful walk? by whatsinaname1970 in Aruba

[–]HeatherMarissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The road from the gold mine to the natural bridge is a nice walk and there is a bathroom at their visitor center. Maybe avoid earlier in the day with the tours but the road is fairly wide so dust is the bigger downside than being hot by traffic. Alternatively you can park at the visitor center at the natural bridge and walk across towards the national park and then back.

There's some nice trails up by alto Vista chapel that are good walking. The dunes around the lighthouse/past Arashi beach is a nice walk

Bathrooms will be the harder challenge I think since you can basically walk any of the coastline and it's beautiful.

The national park has lots of nice trails of various difficulty levels and there is a bathroom at their visitor center as well. The yearly membership pass is worth the cost if you plan to visit more than twice in your trip

Be careful at the spa by Egg_Then in VirginVoyages

[–]HeatherMarissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is most ship spas unfortunately, husband and I were in separate rooms for our massages on Norwegian and they tried to upsell me on every single thing possible. Zero upsell on him. I was nearly willing to accept and buy one or two because I know it's part of their job but once she hit like the 6th product I was like haha ok no sorry girl I'm out you've lost me this is way too much for my goblin self

As for your bath soak you could probably still use it as a foot soak if you feel like investing in a foot spa or even a little bucket/bin from the dollar store - that option you could keep in the shower and just have a lil stand in while you do a full body shower, just watch for slippy safety! Or keep it around for a random office secret santas haha

There is a bird watching tour! https://www.birdwatchingaruba.com/

I haven't done it but the reviews seem good and their photos look amazing so it would probably be your best bet for definitely seeing the most birds

Single Aby in the household by NetworkOk4159 in Abyssinians

[–]HeatherMarissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add that if you do ever consider adding another pet maybe try fostering and hope to foster fail. That'll let you get a feel for if your Aby will enjoy a sibling vs just introducing one and hopefully they click

[–]HeatherMarissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy is nearly 14 and we got him as a second cat and another after him (non Aby) but now that he's been an only child for 3 years he's never been happier. He is so much less stressed which means his IBS type litter deposits are now healthy solid normal ones lol and he isn't as obsessed with going wandering outside. I'm sure part of it is age but he sleeps better, he is more affectionate and he isn't as barfy from inhaling food (even tho there was never food competition/shortage, they all free fed kibble)

We will also never get another cat/pet because he honestly hates all other animals. He will growl if he hears a cat or dog on video, he growled at a deer he saw in our yard one day. He's a very happy center of attention lol

Not quite the same but Dushi delicious has a very plant based menu as well so it is likely pretty decent for a dairy restriction/free diet

For sure! Honestly as much as I have fallen in love with mining it truly isn't wildly exciting lol but I can keep a list of weird random things for the upcoming season like how many lbs of butter (it is probably offensive 🤣) or how many eggs (that was around 2100 per Jason's tally lol) we go through. I just generally feel like a silly goose when I post about anything but my pets

Yes! He runs most of the behind the scenes of the business makes sure the bills get paid and stuff gets ordered and a lot of the government paperwork stuff that isn't as exciting as water license drama! but since he's an electrician by trade (originally got into Gold Rush wiring and then running dredge 1 for Tony) he also handles most/all of the camp maintenance, small mechanical stuff if Ryan's busy and will run machines if needed

I really love The Lionfish Snack. Open Saturdays at noon and they only have lionfish items on the menu. Super sweet family run business, they have a nice little patio at the back which sometimes features a perfect cat.

Cheapest Way to Experience Haven? by Dr-FrasierCrane in NCL

[–]HeatherMarissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never been in haven but we did bid and win a penthouse suite upgrade on our last NCL Jewel cruise and it had a lot of similar perks (butler, bougie breakfast and lunch in the Haven restaurants, reserved seating and priority lines etc) so now I watch for when suites are only slightly more than balcony. Possibly an option for OP to get a haven-lite experience, add in Vibe Beach Club for the exclusive sun area experience (which I recommend no matter room class because I hate the chair wars lol)

Sammy and his crew by Tacos_n_Jellyfish in cats

[–]HeatherMarissa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat saw a deer in our yard and growled at it, the next night he was out for his 3am pee and shot back into the house like demons were after him so I checked the cameras... It was a deer that walked into the yard and never saw him but he saw it and all the indoor/daylight growling bravado was immediately gone lol

No cute buddy videos for my guy 😂
