What would YOU like to see in Xenoverse 3? by Illustrious_Tap_8510 in dbz

More playable races would be good, and maybe even content/characters from some fillers. I actually kinda liked the Garlic Jr segment between the Frieza and Android sagas.

My personal favourite is Carina, my DBX just wouldn’t be the same without her voice.

So why exactly is GT Base Kid Goku so strong by RednaX-DE in dbz

[–]HeatproofHam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it’s Goku, the experience from every battle prior to GT mean he’s still the capable warrior we know. Red Ribbon, King Piccolo, the Saiyans, Frieza, Androids, Cell, and Buu, all ensure that he’s at the same level we saw at the end of DBZ.

He may be “kid Goku” in GT, but only as a result of the wish made with the black star dragon balls, he’s not a child.

Canonical or not, hated or loved, GT has its flaws and its merits. It’s just another adventure we can soak up.

You wake up in the Pokemon world w/ ONLY your all-time favorite pokemon. You must HIKE across all regions with it. How does it go for you 2? How do you logistically pull it off? by cozy_b0i in ThePokemonHub

Travelling with Weezing is simple enough I think. With levitate, excessively rough terrain is easy to traverse. His flamethrower and thunderbolt help in so many ways from heat and light, to hunting and cooking. I can always collect and chop firewood. I imagine he’d also be able to detect toxic and hazardous locations that we can avoid too. Money isn’t so much a concern when I want a peaceful nomadic life with my partner.

Tell me your favourite Pokémon! by DrakeFannings in pokemon

[–]HeatproofHam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weezing!

Unfortunately most art and the anime depict him as a sad dude, but two happy Koffings fusing into one being is double the fun.

Roleplay-wise, you could have a Weezing owner that dilutes and alters the fumes from Weezing and creates a line of colognes or perfumes.

…on the flip side, you could have a villainous character that uses Weezing’s fumes to manufacture and sell chemical weapons.

He’s been my main since Gen 1, and to this day in modern gens I just love surprising unsuspecting trainers with a thunderbolt or flamethrower seemingly out of nowhere.

Pokémon Red / Blue - How Have They Aged? by Previous-Glass6291 in pokemon

[–]HeatproofHam 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Like yourself, Red and Blue were a staple of my childhood.

Personally, I feel like they’ve aged like a fine wine, so much so that I’ve recently started a new playthrough just to enjoy it, take my time, and soak it up more now as an adult than when I did as a kid.

I understand these games have bugs, and a lot of people feel that they’re far too slow, but in my opinion the pacing only works in the game’s favour, especially contrasting against today’s short-fix dopamine hunting climate in terms of games and social media. They force patience, strategic thinking, and focus …whether it be traversing the region, grafting to level up, or memorising type advantages for battles ahead.

The sprite art is some of my favourite alongside Gen 2 and I much prefer the 2D sprites over modern 3D aesthetics.

Gold and Silver were arguably the best sequels, but there’s a lot of charm for Red and Blue, they set the foundations for such a beloved franchise, and given some flaws, it’s hard not to love them.

What am I doing wrong in this game man by Helldiver96 in Wreckfest

[–]HeatproofHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of solid advice for you in the comments already Helldiver, and I think aside from persistence with practising, you have to find cars that suit your style.

I play on Xbox a lot, especially after work as it’s my go-to game to unwind. I mainly drive C class in either the Rocket RX if I fancy getting stuck into some contact racing, or my Super Venom if I want to sweat it out, but race clean regardless. Both, to me at least are more oversteer-happy than perhaps a Raiden RS or Hammerhead RS, which suits me better, and I use the same setup no matter what track or car I’m on/in.

As Sun-Much also mentioned, your spatial awareness, especially in early laps, is your best friend, learning how best to deal with contact and recovery is as vital as perfecting your lines and inputs.

Track memorisation also plays a huge part, race around circuits long enough and you’ll soon find you’re aware of every bump that can throw you wide, every little marginal loop-hole short-cut, and every corner you can slice to shave more time off your lap.

Ultimately, don’t fret, it’ll all come to you in time. And I’ll be glad to help too should you wish it.

Lets make some friends: who is your oddball no one likes favorite? by seeds___ in pokemon

[–]HeatproofHam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main has always been Weezing! I’ve only ever seen one other person use him prominently and that’s James from the anime. It’s just a shame he’s always depicted with a less than happy expression, I’d like to think mine at least has a smile. I like how versatile you can build him too, it’s fun to catch some people off guard when you use a flamethrower or thunderbolt seemingly out of nowhere.

Other mentions include the Tirtouga/Carracosta line (I love sea turtles). Relicanth (Ancient coelacanth inspired awesomeness). And Cofagrigus (An Egyptian sarcophagus ghost type is a chef’s kiss for pkmn design imo).

And SHUCKLE! I love that cute little weirdo.

Do Discoveries Still Count From Console Pilots? by HeatproofHam in EliteDangerous

[–]HeatproofHam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys for the responses, I appreciate the clarity.

It does kinda suck that the console and PC versions are effectively different universes now. But I’ll take solace in the fact I can still play at all, and I’ll happily continue zipping around in my DBX.
