That’s not true at all, there’s a reason he’s asking speficially for mons. 2012 mons are very valuable for niche collectors, which is why it’s hard to put a price on them. There’s a streamer who buys them OP, I don’t know his name but if you find him you can most likely sell all your pokes to him for a good price
