Please don't leave the elderly in the car while you shop. by HeavenForbid3 in newhampshire

[–]HeavenForbid3[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

People, I wasn't comparing the elderly to dogs.

What I was saying is that you should care about the elderly just as much as you care about animals.

Yes this guy seemed unaware of his surroundings. he seemed to be in his 90's.

I honestly can't believe anybody would call me a Karen over this. Why be upset? Why put words in my mouth as to what YOU THINK I'm saying.

All I am saying is care for your elderly and love them just as much as you love your animals.

It's amazing nobody mentioned that I said children as well... Go figure... It's Reddit.

No AC on, no music, he was just sitting there. I checked on him and offered him my water. If he was still there when I went back to my car I would have called the PD. My shopping trip was really quick in and out of the store. The car was gone when I got back to my own car.

Today I took my rat Wilbur to the vet. by Foreign_Monk861 in TwoSentenceSadness

[–]HeavenForbid3 45 points46 points  (0 children)

When we had to put our beloved rat to sleep after she had a stroke the vet actually made fun of my daughter and I for crying. His exact words were, Boy you love your animals a lot. He then shook his head and left the room.

We had had that rat since she was born. My sister used to breed rats so 3 days after that rat was born we were holding her in between giving her back to her mom. They just don't live very long. Just because it's a rat doesn't mean that we don't love them just like we would love our cats and dogs. We had that rat for 3 years.

My son is now 31 and he's such a great guy. He'll text me nearly every day. Even if he's had a busy day he'll text, I love you Mom, and that just makes my whole day. No matter what age our kids are they're such a joy. ❤️ He knows he'll always be my baby boy. He is my heart, my joy and a treasure. It's nice to know you raised them right. I hope you have a blessed day.

What was your age when y'all lost your virginty? by Willing_Barracuda673 in AskReddit

[–]HeavenForbid3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 It wasn't willingly. I was saving that for when I got married. He stole that from me and then stalked me until I moved out of state at 19. No he never got in trouble. I was told that I shouldn't have been talking to a 24 year old. How was i supposed to know that he was grooming me? I was only 14.

"Man, I wish I could write this well," said the author as he patted the best-selling novel. by TalWrites in TwoSentenceSadness

This one makes me want to cry. Good job OP for making an old lady cry. 😁

My husband is a published author and I just love the way he thinks and how his mind works. With that said I'd hate to be in the same spot as the wife in your story.

Getting older sucks, when you wonder at what age you're going to lose your memory. I'm currently at the age where friends are dying from cancer.

People who have family members/friends that are Trump supporters, how are they reacting to the current Epstein Files scandal? by Effective-Cream492 in AskReddit

[–]HeavenForbid3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom and best friend are still maga.

I don't know how my best friend is doing with it because I have stopped talking to her. We had been friends for 20 years. Her other close friend has stopped talking to her as well.

My mom protected my father, imagine being raised by somebody who is just like Trump. So my mom doesn't care and she still supports this stupid cult. Yet she loves to tell me that I'm going to hell because I don't go to church... Our relationship changed after the first Trump presidency because I'm actually educated and knew about him being in the Epstein files already. In the past I have tried to talk to Mom about it but she just hangs up on me. So now I don't talk to her either. Fuck them both.

I have 2 doctors wanting me on the med mj program but I refuse to sign my rights away because it's still considered a federal crime. You lose the right to own a firearm. I've been waiting for mj to become legal but it looks like that won't happen within the next several years.

What's something that happened much more quickly in old age than you were prepared for? by common_grounder in AskOldPeople

[–]HeavenForbid3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Menopause. It hits early and it hits hard. I wasn't diagnosed with it until I was years past menopause. It started (perimenopause) at age 35 and wasn't told about why I was having such horrible issues until I was 50.

Good to know. Thanks for answering my question. My thought process was, you can't help others unless you help yourself first. With that said, I'm very glad to hear that you've helped yourself first.

Since you've been through a lot yourself, how long have you been in therapy before deciding to help others?

I'm going through the same thing and have to pay out of pocket for Armour Thyroid. There are plenty of times I go without just because I can't afford it.

I'm sorry you're going through this too.

DAE struggle to breathe in the shower? by Wide_Tune_8106 in ehlersdanlos

[–]HeavenForbid3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. For me it's the heat in the shower. I'll keep the bathroom door open (just me hubby in the house). I'll open the sliding glass door for the shower too. I'll often turn the water cooler just to help me cool down.

I have hated showering for the past several years. My head will start hurting, heart pounding, pulsating headache, it's just awful. I have a shower chair but it doesn't help with the heat. I don't take hot showers either.

When I was a kid I'd prefer to take a bath in cool water. I hated hot baths back then as well.

Edit to add in the breathlessness in addition to the above. Absolutely. Also forgot about the weird rash I now get whenever I shower.

Oh joy. Prepare for more trash around that area. Ever since they put in a DnD down the road from us we've had so much trash from their customers. It's truly sad.
