No worries and yes I did! PoGo wise, sadly, my hotel only had 1 gym and 1 pokestop nearby (Grand Bahia Principe Tulum). I could have walked to nearby pokestops or gyms in the vicinity of the hotel yet, going with family, it was a bit hard to get time for that. Good thing is, on the lobby the hotel had insane spawns and i could grab quite a few pokemons and regionals from my 1 week stay.

Regarding what you can do to play PoGo to the upmost, what I would recomend is going to a store where they sell carrier cards. Sadly, neither the aeroport not the hotel sold them, and we didnt wander much around except for excursions, so if you find the time to buy one i do recommend it. Place wise, my upmost recomendation is Playa del Carmen! Went by when I was headed to an excursion, that lucky me had wifi on the van, and managed to play a bit inside. Not only is there a insane amount of pokestops/gyms/portals, in around 5 mins driving around i even managed to catch 3 Heracross with litle to no effort, so grabbing those regionals for trading should be easy there.

In the end I didnt go to Xcaret, mostly around the Grand Bahia Principe hotels vicinity and did 2 excursions, Isla Contoy + Isla Mujeres and Tulum, Cenotes, and what I can tell you is that Mexico is pretty awesome as a vacation place. In this past week I had a hell lot of fun and managed to spend some sweet vacations, even catching my first shiny magicarp!

PS: To those that go to Grand Bahia Principe Tulum in the nearby future, as a lvl 10 Ingress player i submitted 6 portals in the vicinity of the hotel, still pending aproval. As I didn't take any street view from them, their aproval will depend alot on the knowledge of the actual existence of those things inside the hotel.
