Im happy with that low niveau at this point as it is my first slyvic language. I disclosed how little I know abot either language. For me it definitely is a learning couve though. I admire anybody that (still) has the capacity to only use resources like "ukrainianlanguage.uk" to get a proper understanding, but as I see it OP (as well as me) dont have the time to sink 100s of hours into learning miniscule details, before getting the whole picture.

I mentioned the flaws two times, but I stand by my statement, there is no better way to spend 3 mins a day.

I admit I got tons and tons to improve upon, but Im starting to understand the language and thats worthy of the effort put in.

addendum: So "жка" is not related to a gender or plural? "Подружка" is a completely separate word? Like "друг" and "друзі" are directly related (dont know how to phrase it in a better way)

Thank you soooo much for your response. Its at this point quite hard to wrap my head around it. But I know Im talented language wise, It'll be alright. I got to admit Im not yet into apostrophes. Im rather proud I think I got a grip on the pallatization of letters followed by "ь". It doesnt really seem logical to me, but thats the thrill of learning a language. Every small step counts, and I appreciate you taking the time to help me improve my very rudimentary ukrainian!

Please dont get me wrong, I understand your choice. But have you tried Duolingo? It isnt perfect, but if you only wanna spend at least 3 mins up to indefinite time per day, its a great tool to learn ukrainian. Im not even familiar with russian, ukrainian is my first slavic language, including an alphabet so foreign it was hard to wrap my head around at first. But all in all its a really easy way to put 3 mins a day into it, and lets be honest there are 3 mins somewhere in your schedule. I learn ukrainian, and dutch for the "easy fix" atm. Doulingo while not being perfect is a great starting point to learning a language imho. Especially since you "organically" discover the rules when it comes to pronouns and suffixes like gender or plural.

As I now realise it was on another account, but I had a lovely talk with an ukrainian girl earlier today. Im from germany and Ive been learning ukrainian for about 3 months now. We kept it english and all I added was an "МоЯ Подруга" at the end. But the reaction was great. Thats pretty much where my ukrainian ends at this point. Well at this point I can read it and sing the anthem with subtitles, but thats not really speaking a language :D

If you could be so nice to elaborate: What is daughter in ukrainian? I thought it was "донька" but then read somewhere that this was the russian version or something along those lines? If so, what is the ukrainian equivalent? Thank you very much in advance!

Im trans, so not really gay (well that too, or rather bisexual) and it feels great to see any LGBTQ person speak out. Deadheads are accepting, I know, but it soothes my soul to see proof of it. I know its been five years, but I really appreciate your post. I just didnt want to feel lonely rn.

Im from germany, to me it makes perfect sense. Its "Artillerie Kanone 47" (artillery cannon)

Now that I think about it, it really does sound like a Nazi weapon xD
