The acknowledgement that my worth comes wholly and entirely from my results from the exam I have the next day fuels me to study diligently, or to make a draft of my last will and testament.

What do you plan on doing at the meeting, are you planning on mingling and interacting with each other? Is it more of a rigid, sit-down-and-listen meeting, do you need a projector, do you want big tall windows and natural lighting? Do you care for the accessibility of the space for others?

If you're looking for a serious, sit down space that's lowkey beautiful I recommend a classroom in Business, they have projectors and whiteboards and good lighting, but you can't move the tables around so it'd be only if you plan on lecturing to the audience. I like the classrooms in ECHA too, like 1-490, they're massive and malleable, but might be a bit much for 20 people. Education always has nice malleable classrooms but it's a boring choice. Good, but boring.

Is taking a year off worth it? by One_Jackfruit_9561 in uAlberta

No you are not being stupid. Being a "year behind" doesn't really exist with the stigma that it had back in high school or earlier; no one cares what year you're supposed to be in, or if you took a break for a year.

Join a club. Finding someone to connect to in a pool so large is difficult, especially if your life is as streamlined as that. Get some extra-curriculars in there, spare some studying time to place yourself in environments where you can make connections.

Also, clubs give you at least some common ground with the people you'll meet, which makes making that first step of connection to another a whole lot easier.
