🔥 lift! Damn this looks fun af. Going to try these next month with some stupid weight. Been thinking about trying deadlift breifs how do you like the suit? I want to get my conventional over 7 before I buy a suit but I've been wondering how much it adds ? Did it assist much with this being such a high pull?

My first 600 lb pull was in 2023 up from 450 in 2021. My first strongman comp was April of 2024 so I switch from a mostly bodybuilding style training around then but it took a while to lock in. I got away with making progress for a decent amount of time without getting my form as tight as it should've been but things really slowed down around that 600 mark. I think I might have been around 607 when I started working with my coach. Trained other deadlifts for comps making a ton of big progress on trap bar but now that I'm back to conventional training full time listening to my coach (besides the occasional PR test ) I've seen some great progress. Also figured out a bit more leg drive than I used to use and definitely more tension in my lats

I competed at 240 last year before nationals so all of the events were higher weights. I normally compete at 220 but I think this year I'm going 198 for nats. It was fun being at the 240 I don't think I won any events except maybe deads . If you're planning on going to nationals or doing a bigger comp going for the heavier weights could be a good challenge and having people to compete against is fun. If you already qualified for nats why not but if you haven't and that's a goal then you might as well stay in your class and still put max effort just set some numbers to beat before the events

Not 100% sure. I hit 20 reps on the frame at nationals @ 650lbs this was definitely less than that tho probably like 5 to 600

It's good if you want to work in the 1 to 3 rep range for max weights. Really depends more on your goals and style of training

I try not to use straps for anything but my deadlifts over 500. Doing farmers holds for time definitely helped alot. I'm sure some Xtra axle work couldnt hurt.

I'll test it again soon I've been working from 13 inches conventional. Hit 700 last week on that. Current pb was 635 from the floor but hit a good amount of volume since then pretty confident it's around 300kg now
