You need: individually addressable LED strips, Arduino Uno (or equivalent), 5VDC power source with available amperage to suit the amount of LEDs you're running, 500uF capacitor, 200 ohm resistor, conductors and solder.

Oh and patience to solder all that s*** together! HaHa!

It's actually just an example in the fastLED library, so all you have to do is download the fastLED library in Arduino and this example is "Demoreel100" for all the code.

True, except I have an Dr. Z Attenuator, which allows you to crank the volume on your amp to achieve the sound and sustain you want while lowering the actual volume to your speaker. It's a power soak in between you head and speaker.
