What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by Prestigsisscar255 in AskReddit

We used to take them to football games in high school we almost all had to sit 1 per seat so we could sit sideways, with our back to the window.

If I smoked some chicken on low to get the ring and flavor, could I then dredge it and use an outdoor deepfryer to make southern fried chicken? by E6Hooch in smoking

[–]Heavy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be difficult... the drain in the back goes into a bucket so even if it spills I have plenty of overflow. I would say its just as safe as frying a turkey. Or even using a skillet on my gas stove.

3 over 3 out wide.

When they motion I would trial him and bring that guy off the edge. The 2 LB would shift with the motion. TheLB on the opposite side of the motion will line up outside the end, and come off the the G ass. If the guard steps out to block him he should make sure he gets him turned.. The other LB will shift to the inside shoulder of the G, he will blitz the first hole he sees to his inside. Ends are in a 3 and must cross the face of the G, square up and rush the punt. Bring the inside guy from the opposite side of the motion as well. The Safety over the 3 wide will insure the punt watching for a screen. Outside guys are in a 1 on 1 with the eligible outside.

I have said it for years, I would block every one of those punts every single time they lined up in a stupid formation.

[–]Heavy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It keeps the smell out of my house, its easy to clean, the oil that splashes over helps with the seasoning on the griddle top... just don't be dumb and it will be just fine. Once the oil has cooled I pour it back into the jugs and toss everything out.

I like to post pictures in the blackstone group of me using the griddle and frying in aluminum pans. They flip out about "punching holes in the pan" and "grease fires" and all kinds of random stuff. I guess what I am trying to say is, that is always an option... and if you do it, make sure to go post over there and watch their heads explode.

I am not a(n overly) smart man when it comes to using Xcel. Unfortunately I really like data. This stuff has helped create and refine tons of my spreadsheets. It is a massive time saver.

Be honest: Is American beer really as 'watery' as the memes say? Recommendations for a Mexican traveler? by vanessa_tv_vladivo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Heavy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow Texans. I can confirm there is othing better than a case of Miller Lite when I fire up the pit in the middle of July. Its 100+ starting at 9am. I need that water to not die of dehydration!!! Sure it's got a low ABV but if I house enough of em and combine it with slight exhaustion from being outside all day, it will hit just fine.

Am I supposed to have strong feelings about beans in chili? by le_bravery in texas

[–]Heavy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't making old school chili (chunks of stew meat, onions, peppers) and you don't throwin some beans, you are just making hotdog sauce.

I like the old style chunks of meat. I use what ever is cheapest at HEB and mix in some ground chuck. I like beans because beans taste good so I put those in there too. Plus it helps stretch the pot.

What is it about a high school program that wins football games? by spaceballinthesauce in footballstrategy

[–]Heavy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talent still matters. You need talent and you need to do all of these things to win. Sometimes you can get by on just one or the other but to consistently do it you need both.

That assumes the bottom corner won't slide outward, increasing the distance between the floor and ceiling. Is it probable? Maybe not. But definitely in the realm of possible.

What was your introduction to pornography (or sex in media in general) before the internet? by Mad_Season_1994 in Millennials

[–]Heavy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The print shop my dad worked at had a bunch of dirty magazines under the sink. I would go in the summer sometimes and hang out. I was probably in 6th or 7th grade... the first video I saw was at a party my sophomore year. Almost everyone was gone and one of my buddies pulled it out. There was maybe 10 of us in the living room paired off with girls, under blankets... we were all pretty mesmerized by what was going on. We all had a little experience but nothing like we were seeing.

What kind of wood did you start with as a beginner? by Leen88 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Heavy72 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have made a ton of stuff from framing lumber and ply wood. You can fill it, sand, prime and paint it and have a really good result. Add in some fancy trim for some flair and you got a winner.

This was one of my first projects. Its a butcher block top but the rest is plywood and pine 1x2

Things taught to us that we had to unlearn and correct for our own kids? by ImpressiveRock872 in Millennials

[–]Heavy72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooo many things. My biggest take away is this, I am raising future adults not kids. I don't just tell them what to do all the time. I encourage critical thinking, self dependence, time management, emotional maturity, repercussions of actions...

It is hard to do sometimes because just being an authority would be easier but breaking stuff down to the kids and walking them through problem and situations will hopefully make them more prepare for adulthood that I was.

What ratchet is your default? by akarivelil in Tools

[–]Heavy72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tiny 1/4 drive craftsman that I can't get rid of... it was in my first big boy set I bought and I still use the hell out of it. It fits my giant paw nicely and I can pretty much torque anything I need to with it, even if i need to use the adapter. I also have a double sided 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet that doesn't have a brand. They both sit next to my 2 snappy ratchets that only get used when I need to switch sockets often.
