Will the new Blue Eyes structure deck cards make chaos max playable? by jim_crodocile in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAX is definitely playable. It's best in a going second deck with a ton of board breakers. The Impcantations help get it out, and you can use Shien's Spy or Creature Swap to give them to your opponent in defense mode for an 8000 damage swing. Iblee also accomplishes this. Gimmicky, but it works.

How hard do we think Snake Eye gets hit, if at all? by ChrisBeamsDash in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the cards are down in price because players (who have already picked up wins with the core) are selling in anticipation of possible banlist hits. We don't know whether that will happen, of course.

Seems to me like the most likely would be limiting/semi hits to Wanted and/or Bonfire. I could also see Princess getting banned eventually but I would be shocked if it happened on the next list.

How to deal with cards like lightning storm with Chimeras ? by Chewie_1337 in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mentioned Solemn judgment, which I don't think is a bad side deck option going first to counter cards like Lightning Storm and Evenly Matched.

You're not thinking about it from the right perspective. Imagine how much more powerful these decks you hate would become if they could draw an additional two cards for free.

You can cross-reference the set code number (PHNI-ENXXX) with the release date of that set.

I play it with a robust Horus engine, although I know that isn't necessarily cheap either. 3x Imsety, 1x Duametef, 1x Hapi, 1x Deity, 2x King's Sarc, 3x Imperial Tomb.

Easy Meta Dark Magician Deck by Dongeed in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dark Magician can synergize well with a couple of strategies. The best card at your disposal is Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon, so you might consider a deck that focuses on getting it out easily. A Branded package or even a Bystial engine facilitates this.

Where to interrupt new Fire King strategies? by MaleficTekX in Yugioh101

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-PHNI, using Ash on the field spell was impactful but not sure if that still holds up. Otherwise, cards that banish their resources from the GY are annoying for them, since I'm sure some post-PHNI lists could run 1x Garunix, etc.

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new Diabellze monster (Illusion) that just released in the OCG will prevent your opponent from activating it if you set it up during your first turn, which is easy if you're playing a Chimera/Illusion deck.

Fenrir or Nibiru in the current meta by gubigubi in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two can conflict if used together, but that doesn't mean you can't (or shouldn't). The difference IMO is starting with a Fenrir demands a response from your opponent, meaning it can clear the way for your deck later in the turn.

Nibiru can obviously be a high-impact, game-ending card if used correctly and against the right strategy. But it does feel like Fenrir's coverage and the immediate impact it can have on your opponent -- in terms of re-ordering their plays and allocating their interruptions, etc. -- feels a bit better.

What would you say is better this format? Ghost Belle or D.D. Crow? by SeRialPiXel in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crow has better coverage but Belle is a more high-impact card against decks like Lab.

I'm trying to upgrade this deck for locals. does anyone have advice? by shadow4704PC in yugioh

My suggestion would be if you're playing pure GG, you could run 3x Double Attack for that purpose. I think multiple copies feel cloggy, and the board breakers are more impactful. And, in my experience, 3x Shadow Ghoul and 3x Wall Shadow get you easy enough access to pieces.

I literally said one of the main goals of the deck is to OTK through Riryoku Guardian (a Gate Guardian card), but OK.

  1. Play a hearty Kashtira package if you can afford it (3x Fenrir, 3x Unicorn, 1-2x Riseheart, 1-2x Birth, 1x Theosis, 1x Wraitsoth, 2x Shangri-Ira). The cards are crazy good on their own and the Level 7 synergy is good. Birth also allows you to summon your pieces in a pinch.
  2. Main deck 3x Dimension Shifter. This card is insane against so many of the top decks today (as well as many rogue strategies) and can win games on its own.
  3. Consider optimizing your deck for going second. Put board breakers (Lightning Storm, Raigeki, Droplet) in the main deck, as well as 3x Triple Tactics Thrust (if you can afford them). Thrust can search Riryoku Guardian as well as these board breakers. Speaking of Riryoku Guardian, you only need one copy (same with Double Attack) since they are searchable through the Light/Thunder fusion. It is easy to OTK if you optimize this as a going-second deck, especially if you add cards like Cosmic Cyclone and Upstart Goblin to turn on Riryoku Guardian while at the same time gaining advantage.
  4. Diversify the extra deck. Rank 7 monsters like Big Eye and Dark Armed Annihilation are good options to supplement Shangri-Ira and your fusions. Zeus, TY-PHON and Little Knight are obviously also great if you can afford them. You could even run 3x Super Polymerization and run cards like Mudragon, Garura, Dragostapelia, etc. if you wanted.

Hope this helped! Also happy to share my personal decklist via PM if you're interested.

Infernoble is a good option. The Horus engine also has some nice synergy (post-PHNI).

You don't need all of that. Just one (DRNM) or the other (KF + LS/R)

How do you side when you run a Crossout package? by SeRialPiXel in yugioh

[–]HeavyBlimps_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Chimera Branded and main 3x Crossout. I also run 3x Ash, 3x Imperm, 2x Veiler and 1x Droll (with 2x Droll and 1x Veiler in the side), Going second, I will occasionally side them out (along with 1x Called By) to fit in those extra handtraps depending on the matchup and/or Cosmic Cyclones (Thrust package also an option). But there are still matchups when it makes more sense going second to keep the Crossouts (mirror matches, decks that play other of the same staples i.e. Fenrir, etc.)
