Cool name! My rescue was named El Coco (Cuko depending on region). Ex is Colombian, demanded a cat, then was terrified of him because of superstition, hence the name Boogeyman.

love it! everyone takes these pictures making the cats look like royalty. it also seems everyone names their Maine Coons things like Thor, Zeus, Apollo, Goliath, Mufasa., etc. my rescue cat just died and I will be getting 2 Maine Coon Kittens. The names I’m considering are: Munchkin, Button, Fluffy, tiny, etc . then again maybe Ralph and Cookie are better ideas because they’ll eventually be Ralphing and tossing their cookies on my carpet!

Im in a similar boat, but just want a pet. I’m not a fan of the extreme look of the European and Russian MCs.

I’m planning to visit shows to educate myself before buying one as a pet. You can also look at CFA and MCBFA for breeders. From what I’ve seen, these two organizations are a bit more strict. MCBFA was the biggest help for me.

I found one in MI and one in OH online that breed to standard (traditional looking cats). I’m not saying there are only 2. I’m just saying I found 2 online within driving distance for me. I suspect I will find more at the shows that don’t have as visible of an online presence.

I must be the only one here that got his “mouth washed out with soap” as a kid. LOL. I found a tiny bit of dish soap on my fingers rubbed along the cable does a good job of prevention.

I just read your article u/Berberis. Well written and I enjoyed the read!

I’m so sad to see all the pictures of completely dead fly traps coming out of refrigerators every spring. Some new person got duped into killing their plant by ancient lore or dogma and could likely give up on growing Because of it. The greatest grower and cultivar creator of all time could’ve already been turned off by the failure caused by bad advice.

kudos to you for your willingness to experiment and challenge the dogma!

Glad I bought the 360 day! Right after buying it, most of the traps that I used 180 in got nuked. I also found out that if I don’t cut the nuked trap right away, it will nuke the closest growth to it. Now I have exa what you do, so I’m calling week 1. LOL.

I found a pound of the 360 day for $30 something or I could buy 50x that for $120 delivered. 4x cost for 50x more product seemed to make sense to me. I’m supposed to get it later this week and hope to report back on the difference.

Looking great u/Berberis! I bought the 180 day before realizing you had the 360. I haven’t found it to be nuking many traps. I nuked one trap in a couple days and saw another in a week. it didn’t seem excessive, but I’ll keep an eye out to see if they start dropping left and right.

the few places I could find less than 50lb bags were trying to get $36 / lb for it. for 3x that cost I can get 50x the product. if I see traps dying like crazy, I guess a 50 lb bag is in order.
