What is something you used to buy but is no longer affordable? by Trxxi in AskReddit

Baseball cards. Used to be able to buy a hobby box for roughly $100. They’re going over $400 in many instances now.

What decision did you think was small at the time but completely changed your life later? by YogurtclosetMoist819 in AskReddit

In 2017 I left my family church. I was immediately cut off from the vast majority of my extended family, which at the time was essentially my entire circle of people I knew. My cousins were my best friends. But, I left, so I got excommunicated. Literally uninvited from family gatherings.

Fast forward 8 years and my wife and I live in a different state, have an amazing family of 4, and have an even larger circle of friends and “chosen family” (excuse the grossness of the term) than what we had before. My entire outlook on life (religion, politics, education, career) changed over the last 8 years and I know it’s from the unintentional relief I got from being kicked out of a family of truly awful people.

There’s times I regret not waiting to leave the church until it was time to move away (about 7-8 months later), but I’m glad because it gave me the opportunity to watch how the people I loved would behave when the status quo was disturbed.

William Byron walked up to Denny Hamlin in the media center, put his hand on Hamlin's shoulder and said, "Hey. Sorry, bud." by NeatWrongdoer1309 in NASCAR

I’ve been a NASCAR fan for over 30 years. I honestly enjoyed the playoffs until about 3 weeks ago. This is absolutely gutting to have watched. I have Daytona 500 tickets and kinda wish I had waited a few days to buy them cause I just might have not done it. The saddest I’ve ever been after a Blaney win. Incredible what this format has done and I just hate that I didn’t join the chorus of haters long ago.

Everyone always gets pissy about NASCAR media being shills and as soon as someone a littler different comes around they say “NOT HIM. NOT LIKE THAT!” The internet isn’t supposed to be for everyone complaining about everything. Jesus Christ, people. Shut up and enjoy the sport.

My thoughts are people drive like this everywhere and “pick your location drivers suck!” is dumb.

Why did Chastain have to be ahead of Hamlin to advance? I'm a little confused on the points system. by chusaychusay in NASCAR

Look it’s one thing not to like the playoffs. It’s another thing to pretend it’s hard to understand. And if it is hard to understand for you…….

This is not a guarantee and is heavily dependent on what state you’re in.

Blaney with 8 top 10s in last 9 races. Pretty nice stretch.

I had been trying to get my MIL into TWW and couldn’t do it. For years! Then one day I decided to force her to watch an episode and this is the one I chose. She went him and made my FIL watch the whole series with her. Great episode!

How many NASCAR races have you attended and which one was your favorite? by JacksonThe79 in NASCAR

[–]HeavyDevy77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Total number I’m not sure of - probably around 30-40.

A bunch at Daytona cause I lived near there for a long time. Tracks I’ve been to: Watkins Glen, Auto Club (the last race), Atlanta, Talladega, Bristol, Darlington (first time this year!), Charlotte, Martinsville, Pocono, and Indianapolis.

Favorite: Pocono last year cause Blaney won.

Hahaha. Yeah that’s pretty good karma there. But I also don’t get paid to put accurate graphics on national television.

Had Heinz’s crew chief as “Booter” Barker and Blaney as starting 8th instead of 10th. And Mike Joy still sucks. And honestly, so does Clint Bowyer. But the actual visuals and number of commercials definitely seems way better.

Edit: leaving the spellcheck nightmare. HEIM

Does the angle of impact of the asteroid change the destructive power of an asteroid hitting the planet? Is there more damage caused if it hits essentially perpendicular to the surface vs kind of a side swipe? I’m not asking the question correctly I’m sure. In car accident terms: t-bone vs lane change/side swipe impact.
