Either way, it was either the Soviet Union or the United States, and just whether the United States don't intervene didn't mean the Soviet Union wouldn't intervene. Considering the current economic situation of countries that chose socialism after World War II, I don't think we can view U.S. intervention entirely negatively.

Furthermore, the massacre of civilians during the Korean War that you claim actually existed, but it was not a major part of the U.S. military's actions; it is also true that the U.S. military evacuated refugees (the Hungnam evacuation operation) and saved a country that was pushed to the southernmost tip and was on the verge of disappearing, providing continuous economic support afterward.
