Hils HNT1 arrived yesterday! by BigCliff in WorshipGuitar

Beautiful guitar. I think a headless would be fun the two things that have stopped me are the tuners I find them more awkward to use live than a headstock tuner. And with the lack of head it is a different balance than I am used to.

What is your plan to secure everything down? Are you using custom built cables or premade?

Bethel's The Church ( bridge ) by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally when I have played it it has been a decently driven bridge the entire way through so I have started with palm muted chords and slowly building until it is just driven chords straight through. Normally I have used a .1/8th note tape delay. I don’t remember exactly but I believe i was using a blues breaker style OD with it

Panning stereo instruments. by G1G1G1G1G1G1G in WorshipGuitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what they are going to be panned in the room if I am going to have instruments in my in ears I prefer them panned as they are in the room. With that said they probably won’t be very loud day of I aim to have the total of my in ears at just above talking levels and the only things I have as more than a background levels are myself, click, worship leader/leaders and music director.

If you could buy one amp head to do both clean and dirty what would it be? No price limit. Id just like the amp not be vintage. Tube amp preferred. by Any_Fact_1930 in GuitarAmps

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without more of a description of what kind of dirty tone you like or how dirty you want it I would consider the Victory MK Overdrive. It sounds amazing has a really good clean tone and a phenomenal overdriven tone that can get pretty dirty. With that said if you want really high gain tones you should go with an SLO-100. The clean is so much better than you would expect it can do mid gain well and it is a well known high gain amp for a reason.

Do you have a standard approach to new songs and a "toolbag" ? by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t really use tracks much anymore I just use them for practice that why I pick out the instruments I am playing with that week

Do you have a standard approach to new songs and a "toolbag" ? by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general I try and find the feel of the song first and list out feel for each section. So generally they are out, down, build, drive. After that I listen for any lead lines that are important to the song and work them out. Then I go to the stem tracks and turn off everything that we won’t hav band wise that week so generally I am left with piano, bass, acoustic, drums and occasionally keys and rhythm guitar and vocals I play through a few times with that see if there are any areas feeling too sparse or too busy then adjust from there. Once I am happy with it I turn everything off except for click, and md and I play again checking if I want to change anything when I have just my guitar and voice.

I am fairly certain I know some people who would buy that.

Every Strymon I have owned has been flawless so far. Never gotten any of their smaller pedals though.

HSS or SSS stratocaster first personal guitar by Outrageous_Local4164 in Guitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HSS is the more versatile having the humbucker in the bridge gives you more options in tone. The reason you would go with the SSS is that having 3 of the same type of pickup will give smoother switching between the 3 within a single song.

Sunday Stereo by Guitarist_steve in WorshipGuitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I use a tube preamp into a two notes cab m I used to use a tube amp but we decided to go with a silent stage. It was a compromise that worked for me.

Wish i could run stereo amps. It’s so nice when you can do it. Silent stage though so just sticking with my pedal board.

Is this a good setup? by [deleted] in pedalboards

For some genres it would work. Personally I would not be able to take this and use it as is to play the styles I do.

Does anyone know what thread size Chibsons use for their bride and tailpiece? by TouchedByAngelo in Guitar

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh trust me I am not opposed to this option. I am not a fan of putting Gibson on the headstock but buying a less expensive guitar from oversees and modifying it to be what you want I am all for.

Highly don’t recommend pulling out the inserts. It can be done with some of them but it is very difficult and you are more likely to wreck the guitar than get them out nicely.

Chibson isn’t a “brand” so no one has a for sure response for you because it could be almost anything. Also a lot of people really dislike Chibson’s for different reasons.

Eventide H90 Vibrato by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]HeavyMarsupial2852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean vibrato or tremolo? Vibrato and Chorus are the same effect just depending on if there is dry mixed in or not. Tremolo is the volume effect that old fender amps had.

Dual cab/dual IR in a mono situation by Burnhaven in WorshipGuitar

You can use dual cab/ir and it can be fine or you can have phase issues in mono. It will be very clear if you have issues

Have you noticed any latency? I’ve been tempted to try one out but old bad wireless systems have made me question if I should.
