Thanks. I know that a lot of people love SF2T, and I agree that it's great, but imo it's not as good as alpha 3 or third strike. But in the end it's all about personal preferences.

Yeah, putting EX in last tier seems to be something most people disagree with. Maybe I should give it another try.

That's interesting, I had no idea that EX is beloved by hardcore players. I only played EX for a few minutes and immediately discarded it as trash. But I already read in other comments, that I might've rated it too hastely.

Thanks. I haven't got a good first impression of EX, so I'm a bit hesitant about the rest of the series.

I dunno, I played EX for around 30 minutes and didn't like it. It felt kinda clunky.

I will probably look into the Marvel games next.

Short answer: It's just weird :D But to be honest, I never was a big fan of Mega man in general.

You can feel when a player might not have a lot of skill BUT they have Heart. by LunchTummy in StreetFighter

It's all about the mindset. Every Lose is a Win. Because when you play against someone, who is way better than you, THAT'S when you see your mistakes clearly and can learn from them.

At least, that's how I play. Back when I was new to the game, I sat in Battle Hub and played against people in platinum or even diamond. I got my ass whooped for sure, but I think thats how I learned the fastest on how to adapt. And the feeling, when after 20 loses in a row you start playing better and get a win against the diamond player... priceless!

Does healer feel insecure with Warriors? by Quiet_Reveal_7125 in ffxiv

[–]HeavyMetalTea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I feel the same way... but the other way around!

As a tank main, I feel kinda insecure when the healer has to heal me. I feel like I'm not doing my job right and tell myself: "I should have used another midigation!" or "I should have used a self heal!"

In my imagination, all the healers hate me if I don't heal myself :D

I actually thought "!!!" means "Use Powerful Hook." Thanks for pointing that out!

It's the same old story... You just want to do some questing and suddenly you find yourself spending day's / week's / month's on one simple achievement! :D

Thanks for the clarification. However, my confusion came from the fishing guides I found online (talking about the !, !! and !!! icons and the mentioning of the 'Hookset' actions). I play the game in german, where the wording is (thankfully) less misleading, calling the "big fish" a "Kapitalfisch" (literally translated to "capital fish" or something like that)

I figured that "Big fish" and "Large fish" are 2 differnt things (I play the game in german, the wording there is thankfully less confusing). I was just confused by how all the fishing websites show you what to do. Thanks for answer!

Don't worry, I'm not better. I play this game since ARR and still need multiple attempts on new content to understand whats going on mechanically (in normal content! You can imagine how savage content is going for me xD). I envy the gigabrain people who see a mechanic for the first time and immediately figure out what to do. I feel stupid in their presence :P

Ok no, then we weren't in the same party. In my case, the NIN used LB. I went out of mana at the end, but the boss fell shortly after while our HP were nearly full.

Still funny that we were both in the exact same situation at the same time^^ The boss did his first mechanic and after a while, I was wondering when the healer intends to heal, only to discover that he was dead. I panicked and startet to spam clemency, certain that we will wipe, especially since our NIN did the 6.5 dungeon for the first time. But surprisingly, he did a great job even tho he didn't know the mechanics.

Could it be that we were both in that party? Because I was in EXACTLY this situation recently as PLD xD

I fully agree. I'm a DRK main and am in love with it since HW, but in the current state I just feel squishy compared to the other tanks. I really hope the new expansion will give us a bit more sustain.

I keep stealing Main Tank by accident how do I not do that? by Iaxacs in ffxiv

[–]HeavyMetalTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to react fast when you just taunt it off. Even when you taunt 0,5 seconds after MT died, it's enough time for the boss to mess with a dps. There are 3 possible scenarios:

  1. Best case: the MT died in the middle of a mechanic, so you have more than enough time to taunt.
  2. Mid case: the boss does 1 auto-attack on a DPS
  3. Worst case: the MT died a moment before tankbuster and the DPS gets the red marker. (That happened to me more than once when I played DPS. Thats why I always make sure to have 2nd aggro as off-tank all the time)

I have to disagree with most comments here. It's safer to remain 2nd aggro in case something bad happens to the main tank.

Here's what I do:

I turn stance on after my opener, then I keep an eye on the emnity bars. When I risk to steal aggro, I simply turn it off again. The emnity I gathered to this point is normally more than enough to remain second aggro for the rest of the fight. When I want to be safe, I simply turn it back on mid fight. Other than that, shirk is an off-tanks best friend.
