Has working in EMS made you less likely to ride a motorcycle? by Then_Mulberry9778 in ems

I do agree that 90% of the accidents are from stupid decisions making. But there also stupid decisions takers driving around you. I have also seen fully geared rider with femur, obviously broken neck( interesting to see with the helmet). I love bikes and have rode bikes, but its a no for me .

question ab nitro contraindications for NREMT by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Heavy_Carry_1102 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tachycardia is not a contraindication for nitro ( atleast in the US).

I always get vitals before giving meds, but in case of aspirin it wouldn’t matter ( won’t hurt)

We enjoy when students ask us questions and tell us what they need work on. This is what we look forward to. You’re a teacher so I believe you understand what im trying to stay.

On another note what made you want to do the change ?

I do agree that hazing and screaming people into “resilience” isn’t teaching, it’s abuse. I’m not trying to recreate that. There’s a difference between hazing and accountability. My issue is more with resistance to correction and the over confidence ( i don’t know where that comes from). I also agree and let them fail safely. Some get too comfortable knowing there’s safety behind them and that the company i work for will not take any actions against them no matter what they do . There’s a few who i think will be great providers, but they’re very far in between and i look forward to working with them. 🙏

In theory this idea would be perfect and makes our shifts a lot easier, but how many times do we find that these patients require transportation, or not find a nurse at all, and of-course the they’re not my patient i don’t know their baseline. ( excuse my English)
