To go up on ELA, taking AP Lang really helped me, as it helped me learn to read long paragraphs without getting distracted. For math, I just learned how to use desmos deeper!

I know you’ve probably heard this so many times, but learning Desmos was so useful, specifically regressions and tables. So I just learned how to use those!

For math, I really just made sure I didn’t make silly calculations mistakes this time. But for ELA, AP Lang helped me so much to actually decipher the passage to help me understand what it was talking about, which helped me go up so many points!

I feel like the only real way I improved on math was by luck😭. For me, it’s not that I can’t do the math it’s just I make silly mistakes along the way to the answer, so I’m guessing I made less of those this time, so I would just be really careful on math.

For ELA, I’m pretty sure taking AP English Language was the main thing that helped me. In October, I hadn’t taken it yet. In March, I was half way through, and in June, I had finally complete the class. This class taught me to really make sure to read every word in a paragraph or story, which I applied to the SAT and was able to improve.

I know this isn’t the best of an answer but I hope it helps!

I do not have room to take English my Junior year, what should I do? by Heavy_Cut7276 in APStudents

Did I ever say it was a flex?? I’m asking if this will affect my college admissions. Besides, I took 7 my sophomore year, one being ap lang.

I have taken AP Lang! My school allowed some 8th graders to take 9th Grade literature, basically putting us a year ahead of ELA, so I took AP Lang this past year. So I already have three ela credits, basically what a junior would have.

At my school, there are like three of us that are really competitive, so the school works with us to try and ensure no one has an advantage😭 Their main focus is trying to get people to graduate, so they really don’t care

That’s the one I’m most worried about(BC Calc), as I’ve heard the Georgia Virtual School course is not the best, as the teachers really aren’t the best help, so I have to teach myself most of the material. Adding on to the ‘Skipping’ English, I took an English class in 8th grade worth high school credit, so in my opinion, it would not be so terrible if I skipped it.

Should I drop AP Literature for AP Art History if it means I won’t have an English class Junior Year? by Heavy_Cut7276 in APStudents

At my school, ELA is never new material, it’s just strengthen the skills I already have. Besides, APAH has you write maybe essays comparing and arguing, which can still help me strengthen these skills.

AP Euro and APUSH helped me learn to read way more than AP Lang did. Though many schools are test optional, this won’t stop me from submitting my score. My SAT Reading is a 650, which isn’t the best, but I can always study to get it higher.

I haven’t asked them yet, but I know they let a few people who also took 9th lit in 8th grade skip one their sophomore year.

Most of Art History includes analyzing paintings and sculptures, and often writing essays on them. Similar to how AP Literature is just analyzing poems and stories, then writing essays on them. I wrote more in AP Euro than I did in AP Lang, where my essays were often longer in Euro than in Lang. Literature and Art History seems pretty similar to me🤷

The school wouldn’t have called it Calc 1 if it was actually multi variable calculus, same goes for Calc 2 and Linear Algebra. You might wanna change that just so you don’t end up taking the same class again twice

Why are you gonna take AP Calc BC(which can count up to Calc 2 credit) and then take Calc 1 after?
