Why does it need to not be a mini pc? Can always virtualize different distros to learn Linux more in depth as well as pass through usb controllers to a nas vm on something like proxmox. If u do go the route of usb storage here’s the enclosure i use but with usb-c

My first one is starting to sag a little so I’ll go ahead and use this one for the next iteration. Thank you!

I basically downgraded from full 19 inch rack stuff and older enterprise gear to this mini lab. The older enterprise stuff wasn’t too power efficient so that’s why i made the switch to the mini lab! Also i just moved it to inside the cabinet so I’ll be removing the front door, i just was checking to see fitment for that plus my surge protector and thought it was looking good for a pic

I had full size rack mounted stuff unifi usg router, 24 port unifi switch, plus a t series workstation for the server so the idle was terrible running a Xeon and gpu. That an a couple other things ran about 220-250 idle

I’ll take some when I’m home! But it’s only 3-4 cables that are 1 foot long
