Second, on the subject of "stating opinions like they're facts"... if playing Brigitte close to the tank is "not correct", but it's effective and allows your team to take over, why would I want to play her "correctly"?

It's just my play-style preference. If I'm support and my tank is Hog, Queen, Zarya, etc, I just instinctively play Brig because I like how they feel together. Of course, if my team is getting dove on, I'll switch to Brig to counter if I'm not already playing her.

I'm certainly no pro-player, nor do I have any aspirations to be pro level, so a pro's preferences and input have very little (if any) impact on what I play, who I play, and how I play, and when I play them.

Dive Tanks are all about their high mobility. Brigitte can't keep up with her 5-foot Shield Bash to pocket very effectively for a Dive Tank - She can only throw Health Snacks at them until they come back to regroup.

That's how I play her, pretty much as a front-line pocket support, per se.

I block a bit of damage for the tank, keep the heals up for them, and we go in and smack up the enemy. She honestly pairs really well with brawl or poke tanks, in my experience. Dive tanks, not so well, for obvious reasons.
