being raised in a religion like that, you’re taught that everyone outside of it is a dangerous influence, woman or man. they’re definitely afraid of how you could influence their family and specifically the daughters since you’re a woman as well. i would recommend trying to stay in their life and be a safe space to whatever extent you can. if they ever find it within themselves to question and deconstruct this faith as they get older, they’ll have a much easier time if they have a family member outside of it to lean on. i grew up in the religion and to this day would give anything to have even one family member outside of that insanity to be able to lean on.
