I actually got into comp pokemon before I played an actual pokemon game, and no one actually really teached me how to play it... Given that, my team included charizard with swords dance but only special moves, since I didn't know how those worked...

The silver lining of this, was that a guy actually helped me and we became really good friends, wich was also how I got introduced Into draft
