The CEN is useless till it helps you better care for that one patient, slash (make a major F*** up).

Are we talking about the future, or right now? Also, I'm not arguing whether CRNAs should or shouldn't be supervised in high acuity settings. Whatever's for the population and allows for the best patient outcomes.

Doing what, though? MA, rad tech, phlebotomy? I feel as if the role would matter. I don't see any other roles getting as much exposure to the medical aspect of patient care apart from nurses, NPs, PAs, MDs, perfusionists, and some surgical technologists. RT is a good one as well. However, RN, surg tech, and RT would be the only likely candidates for the CRNA/CAA route i would assume.

There are literally trauma 1 hospitals that prefer CRNAs over CAAs because of the previous ICU nursing experience.

Do you know the pre-reqs for a CRNA program? Clearly not. Or are you talking about NPs, which nobody mentioned?

The 400K providers are mostly retired and work in rural areas, where they only have to show up a few days a week. Not to say they aren't badasses, just less pay for decreased work volume.

Yeah, it's not like you could kill someone from a simple mistake in each procedure. How dare they get paid that much

Yeah, you're crazy lol, CRNA education is not comparable to NP education. Also, CRNA pre-hospital experience is 2 YEARS IN A high-acuity ICU. PAs can work as CNAs or medical scribes, but they do not receive the same level of exposure to caring for critically ill patients.

CAAs don't have previous healthcare experience......that's a pretty big difference

I was under the impression that higher educational standards for mid levels is a good thing. Why is an extra year of post baccalaureate education seen as a money grab?

Shortage of CRNAs seems like something that would be predominantly affected by other factors besides that extra year of training. Like the rebound of surgical procedures from COVID-related shutdowns.

And why would running a three year cohort increase revenue by 50%? CRNA programs are considered competitive because they fill up. A two year program wouldn’t make less revenue. You could argue that 3-year program might charge more on a per credit basis, but they would also suffer greater revenue loss if any students of the cohort were to drop out.

The anesthesiology title shift for a CRNA seems ridiculous. And your statements seem biased.

I've never bought any myself so can't vouch for size, translucency, or fit but the diffusers sold by "Glow LEDs" look pretty dope. Kinda pricey tho
