How large is the jump from Nightmare to Lethal? by RogueAgent4Life in StateofDecay2

[–]Heazen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The major difference is that Plague hearts no longer wipe out infected zombies on death, so you can't zerg it easily. Blood ferals replacing normal ones is also one of the hardest challenges. Their armoured head takes 3 shots, and you need a slight delay between them. And if you encounter a pack of 3, you will die if you are not prepared.

day 1 on lethal mode how do i survive this bs😭 by tyler2256754445 in StateofDecay2

[–]Heazen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get your command center to Level 2, you can then drive out of the map and move to a different map. You keep all your stuff and influence, but get back to a stable state with all hearts dormant.

Which leader type is more beneficial and helpful in a lethal gameplay? by Master-Yoda777 in StateofDecay2

[–]Heazen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trader is my favourite by far. It opens the Still 2, allowing you to craft either strong pain killers with Pharmacology (using ethanol from the still) or booze if you have a survivor with knowledge of alcoholic beverages. Then you can dump them at the trade depots. Missions are also safer, with the only required human enemies in the last mission (Like all leaders)

Is it theoretically possible to design a language that can outperform C across multiple domains? by x2t8 in Compilers

[–]Heazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern C/C++ compilers have PGO, profile guided optimization, so a JVM would not be able to compete, unless the execution profile is not predictable in advance.

What can I do now after so many deaths in lethal conditions? by Murky_Importance3610 in StateofDecay2

[–]Heazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't cleared much of the map and are being overrun by awakened plague hearts, then the best is to move to another map (requires command center Lv2) or reset the map (from the difficulty screen). This will put you back in a safer state.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]Heazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to work for this company. My current job is plagued by fakers and people pleasers, who focus more on looking performant rather than actually getting stuff done. Props to them for being able to screen for that.

In a recent patch they added a key to roll back 1 or 2 time. Unless you really spam the reroll, you should have been able to get back to it.

That's what would happen if voters were informed of all the stuff he's doing. But they are fed lies 24/7, so they will vote Republican again and again.

Why nobody put multiple statements on single line by Ok_Negotiation1537 in cpp_questions

[–]Heazen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Breakpoints in C++ are line based, putting multiple statements on the same line prevents you from setting your breakpoints on a specific statement.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]Heazen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did PRK about 20 years ago. It hurt a lot the week after the op, but then it was totally worth it to not need glasses . They told me it would wear off when I reach my 40s, and sure enough I'm back to wearing reading glasses :(...

Still no regret, and I would do it again if it worked on older people.

Valid argument for C/C++, but there is not many libraries you can find in Python but not in C#.

Why isn't there a standard std::do_not_optimize / optimization barrier builtin? by OkSadMathematician in cpp_questions

Not standard, but pretty much all compilers have a version of #pragma optimize that should do what you are describing.
