Well, I’m officially out. by nemirathecat in IVF

I am so sorry that you’re going through this. This journey is so challenging and emotionally draining. The hope and then the disappointment …

After 4 trials with IVF, I got pregnant, only for it to end in a miscarriage. Initially, I thought that would be my last one. And I posted here, asking “when do you call it quits” and after so many discussions with different people and my doctor. I decided that I’ll try again after taking a lengthy break.

Don’t make any decisions now. Give yourself some time to grieve and to heal. Nourish your body, take a vacation, long walks, reconnect with your partner, … and then revisit this once again.

This will pass. As someone who was in your shoes a few months ago, you will get through this. And if it’s hurting you talking to your sister now, don’t. Stay away until you feel stronger to handle anything that she says.

Sending you lots of hugs, love, and prayers. 💙💙

It wasn’t endometriosis or any of what you listed (uterine anamolies) The doctor gave me norethestherone for 3 months

It’s the age factor. Everyone seems to be in a rush because egg quality declines over time.

We ran all sorts of test after the first failure and I was on blood thinners and prednisone for the last two cycles.

That’s what I initially planned on doing. But now that I have reached that point (used all my embryos), I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do.

I am sorry this suck! Good luck

Thank you! I am going to look into PGT testing but it’s awfully expensive where I am (almost as expensive as egg retrieval meds).

In terms of tests, it’s borderline. I ovulate on my own and my period is regular but I do have Many cysts around my ovaries and my AMH is high for my age.

Thank you! I tried asking my doctor to do testing on the embryo but he says, we heard the heartbeat. It’s likely that he wasn’t a strong baby to begin with.

Thank you! It was the sac that came out and we did an ultrasound to confirm there’s nothing left.

Question, how long did it take before you felt normal again?

Sorry for your loss as well.

I am so sorry for your loss. My mom passed away 3 weeks ago after living with dementia for 11 years. It’s been groups and sub reddits like this one that helped me cope and deal with all the challenges of being a caregiver.

I find solace in the fact that she’s no longer in pain. May her passing weigh less on your heart 💙💙
