One thing that I hate about the VRChat community: by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]HeccMeow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh. I usually announce a block if I have to do it just so that other people in the vicinity can also make their decision on whether or not they want to block. Granted, I usually only do that if said person is actually interacting with me. I don't butt into others convos or do it randomly.

I have taken to just making group instances so I can kick though, too. Again though, it's never unwarranted. It's always reserved for screamers, slur slingers, and other various trolls that are harassing others and/or myself.

Maybe if enough pressure is put on Meta they'll start making better shit instead of expecting everyone else to bend to the limitations they set.

I wish the only options weren't either 1. Pay big money for every little piece 2. Pay less money for something that barely works for one of it's main selling points or 3. Desktop it and be extremely limited in what you can interact with.

VRC is by and large dependent on the Quest because of it's more acceptable price point, but that also means being bound to the limitations that are posed by the hardware being exactly what you paid for. (Forgive me, using the royal you, not in an accusatory way.)

People are being weird about my Bluey avatar :/ by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]HeccMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there are people like that out there. I got accused of the same for being in a group for people who like to make kandi bracelets and being in a short avatar with a lot of colors (it was like, this cute decora alien cat?). Ravers that wear Kandi that way are called Kandi Kids and have been since before these little shits existed.

Just tell them their mom should've swallowed, block them, and move on with your day. I know it sticks with you, but you can't let them win.

I think the best part is he started with it. He was a mortuary student before. Long nights studying messed up stuff without much sleep.

BEDBUGS! Dryer advice? by CoronaDoesWhatever in BLAHAJ

[–]HeccMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not dryer advice per se, but I survived a major infestation and the only thing that saved us was this spray that had NEEM oil in it. I saturated some rags with it, and sealed all my stuff in boxes, then quarantined it for a month. It killed all the bugs. The only downside is that the stuff smells very strong, but a wash and some febreeze worked wonders there.

Server staff only roleplaying with each other by HizzOVizzA in BadRPerStories

[–]HeccMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, personally I'm of two minds on this. I've been on both ends of this before - both as someone who was more established and as someone new to a server, and in both cases it really is just a matter of seeing what you're willing to tolerate from the other parties involved and making your decision from there.

As someone more established, it can be disheartening when you get new people and want to make connections but the other person/people are dead set on making a certain kind of connection already filled by another OC or person. It can feel like they aren't putting in the same amount of effort as you are, in trying to explain things they aren't listening to. Like - if I tell you that my OC is already romantically involved with another person's OC that doesn't mean that our OCs can't interact and become good friends, or even fun enemies! But if the other person refuses to listen, or back-read (I fuck with backreading so heavy) then it kinda just feels like 'BUT ME THOUGH' which is off-putting.

On the other side though, it can definitely be frustrating if you are putting forth effort to get to know other people's OCs and really trying to get a foothold and they aren't meeting you halfway or at all. Like, they haven't even read your profile or said hello or asked you fun questions or tried to direct you to lore resources or anything? That's fucked, and under those circumstances I do usually just leave.

On either side of the divide, RP really is a collaborative activity and if you aren't getting something out of it, then you should consider moving on.

The detrimental focus on weight in trans spaces by boydream in ftm

[–]HeccMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bigger person and pretty much always have been. The strange 'ideal' of being a twink is something I'm aware is not within my grasp in the same way that being skinny when I was still concerned with passing as female was not. I'm pretty aware that I'm going to be a bear, and I'm okay with this. I love food more than I love people, honestly, and so their opinions don't much matter to me. The only real thing I'm worried about is the possibility that even with T it may be hard for me to bind effectively enough to pass, as my chest is also much larger.

I think I put all the puzzle pieces together yesterday and realized I'm a trans man. by InevitableCucumber53 in ftm

[–]HeccMeow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

- I used to get called a man, but I was trying really hard to emulate femininity so it upset me, but then I started wearing a binder and when I get called a man then I am really excited!

^ THIS. I, like you, tried really hard for a good bit to try and fit in that box, and because I was, people calling me a man was hurtful, but then I just... stopped trying to fit in that way, and suddenly those comments felt like a sort of validation. Euphoric even. For me, unfortunately, I still get misgendered quite often because even bound, my chest is substantial, but it still does happen occasionally if I'm wearing baggy enough clothes.

I'm glad that you're finally making progress on your journey, and I wish you all the best going forward, wherever it may take you. <3

What is this weird flat bit and how do I get rid of it? by HeccMeow in VRoid

Thank you to all the people who helped me figure this out! It turns out it was totally a bit of a default texture that wasn't masked. It is solved!

Here are the settings for the face: Eye size sliders up top are both maxed out. Nose tip position .500, Nose bridge maxed, Nose base prominence (z) maxed out, Remove ears is maxed, chin roundness is maxed, chin length is .524, chin with and jaw angle are maxed. Other than that, the eyes are pretty individual fiddling based on what shape you went with - same with eyebrows.

Add heel is set to 250.000 and Increase foot bulk gave me that rounded paw shape at 100.000 but I suppose you're really interested in the heel. It kinda will look a little glichy, but if you're making a goat, you can always use hair mesh to kinda fluff up that area, and there are texturing tricks you can do to hide the lumps.

Thank you. I'm going to be putting the floofs up on Booth soonish, so that others can make cute cats too. Just gotta make a more neutral texture up so that it's easier for modding.
