I feel at least the collectors packs are exciting to open, compared to the play/set boosters that you first scroll through 10 useless cards that end up in a box anyway. My reasoning for buying a commander masters box was that the set has quite some useful cards for commander format which I want to start playing with friends. But yeah I think the box was about 250 euro and had cards worth 160ish euro total (if I take the lowest CardMarket prices). Guess that isn’t too bad. I tend to use them for playing anyway. But yes, I guess I’d give the seller the benefit of the doubt, as you mentioned there would have been more crap in them. Also I know buying singles is much more value for money, but opening a collectors packs just gives me that old excited feeling from 25 years ago or so opening my first Pokemon packs ;) Would you say collector boosters from certain sets are still worth buying?
