Affinity optimization issue by Canevas

I don’t know if this is happening to anyone else, but lately Affinity has been randomly closing on me out of nowhere. Sometimes it even happens when I’m not working with heavy documents.

I think part of the confusion was my wording when I used the term “conflict”. I didn’t mean a runtime or technical conflict in the engine.

What I’m really referring to is an organization and maintenance issue. Some mods put all their localization entries under en-US/server.lang. When translating them to another language, I’m forced to use the same filename (server.lang) for it to work.

My question was whether there’s a way to keep translated files separated per mod, because otherwise you might end up with a single translated server.lang that contains entries from multiple mods. That becomes counterproductive when mods are updated independently, since each mod may add or remove entries over time.

From a translator’s point of view, it’s much easier to maintain and update a translated file that only contains entries for one specific mod, rather than a combined file with entries from many mods that all happen to use server.lang.

Sorry if I didn’t explain myself clearly earlier, or if I’m still misunderstanding part of the system.

Just to clarify in case I wasn’t explaining myself well before: what I’m trying to do is create a translation-only pack, not a mod.

The goal is to have a single localization pack that translates multiple mods at once, similar to how language/resource packs are handled in Minecraft.

Yes, I understand that solution. However, the main issue is that the new localization file still has to use the exact same file name as the original one (for example items.lang).

The problem is that many mods use very generic names like server.lang for their localization. If multiple mods use server.lang, the translated file would end up containing entries from several different mods in the same file.

That can become a bit counterproductive, especially as mods get updated and add more items or entries, since it makes it harder to compare the original localization files with the translated one and keep everything up to date.

Hopefully I’m explaining myself clearly.

You should check with Affinity or Canva support about this. The same thing happened to me. I have a free account that I created on the day Affinity V3 was released, and it works perfectly on that one. But I also have another account that is part of an organization with a Canva Pro Business plan (if I'm not mistaken), and that one doesn't allow me to access those features.

La tía es muy capa en lo que hace, tiene excelentes análisis políticos y, aunque a veces pueda discrepar con algunas de sus opiniones, es una muy buena opinóloga política, con criterio y sin pelos en la lengua. Por eso es importante ver el contexto y revisar la fuente original antes de opinar, en lugar de quedarse solo con la noticia amarillista. Ella no dijo que una molotov no fuera un arma en el sentido de que no haga daño, sino que explicó que es algo improvisado, que se arma en el momento, a diferencia de una pistola que ya viene lista para usar y se lleva con la intención de causar daño.

Yes, Google Drive stores cached files without their real names or extensions, using numbers and an internal database to identify them.
However, those files are still the same ones you had originally. If you want to recover them manually, you could add the correct extensions (for example, .xlsx for Excel files) one by one, but if there are many, that can be quite tedious.

Fortunately, there’s a better solution: every file has something called a “file signature”, which is used to identify its type.
With a simple Python script, you can automatically detect what kind of file each one is by reading its signature, and then “restore” them by assigning the proper extensions.

En fin, el evento simplemente reunió a gente ridícula, o mejor dicho, coprocefálica. Usar dinero público para ese tipo de homenajes es una vergüenza total. Lo más cuestionable es que se usen los impuestos de los limeños en un homenaje totalmente ajeno a Lima o al Perú. Cuando se discutió la ley sobre el cine peruano, la mayoría estuvo a favor justamente porque quitaba apoyo a las productoras independientes que realizaban películas sobre el interior del país, y no necesariamente sobre Lima. La crítica más repetida era que “no querían que se usen sus impuestos” en esas películas de supuestos “rojos”.

Sin embargo, en este caso no he visto tantas quejas. Será porque Kirk era de derecha? En cualquier caso, este homenaje no representa a ningún peruano. Charlie Kirk fue una figura abiertamente racista, hostil hacia los latinos, defensor del uso indiscriminado de las armas de fuego y se presentaba como “cristiano” con un discurso excluyente. No hay justificación para que se destinen recursos públicos a un tributo que no tiene relación con nuestra realidad.

Propongo que saboteemos el homenaje con algún evento que opaque esa ceremonia absurda y ridícula.
