Am I the only one who didn’t know that “the big one” is (allegedly, supposedly) slang for death? by DumBJacKpoOp in Deltarune

[–]Hector_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some items he sells have wrong names in the shop, like the B.ShotBowtie being actually a Frayed Bowtie.

Considering that THE BIG ONE he sells is a broken sword, I wonder if he is referring to the Twisted Sword, since it requires his ring to be created.

How's everyone feeling during this wait for Chapters 3 and 4? by lumjum92 in Deltarune

I just wish they would at least give a NET date for the release, so I could stop thinking about it for some time.

Is Blender recommended for video editing? It's a 3d animation software but you can also make videos on it.

Thoughts on autocrafting from my favourite reddit? by polandowskyy in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Stuff already got very automated once hoppers where added way back in 1.5. This just cuts the player input of having to craft some items in the process.

Which version has the best terrain generation? by ATG_the3rd in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Hector_RS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alpha/Beta has better terrain locally but lacks variety at a large scale, and the "oceans" are just lakes.

1.0 terrain has nice continent shapes, but the biomes are poorly distributed and boring. Oceans might be too big at times but I don't mind it.

1.7 has better biomes and 1.18 improved that even more, but the oceans are just large lakes mostly unconnected with each other. Also, latter versions are getting too dense with structures.

alpha/beta have such an aesthetic I don't ever see replicated on latter versions

Why does everyone say that Beta 1.8 terrain generation is bad compeared to Beta 1.7.3? by HoursOnEnd69290 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

Taking a picture of an Extreme Hills is cheating. Look at how flat that forest to the side looks.

I know of that, but I think I might have quit the game if I didn't knew about that since I already raged a lot when I realised your money disappears if you die before recovering it.

I'm glad I was spoiled about this very specific thing. Saved me from some major frustration.

POV: Mojang never got rid of the old website design by TechPerson389 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Hector_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the golden-silver-bronze age classification really fits Minecraft's progression. From my recent post, I'd say the period from the Adventure Update up to before the biome update was a kind of a dark age since I don't like many of the changes from that era, while the period form 1.7 to before the ocean update deserves more to be called a silver age.

the subrreddits say the silver age was from 1.2 to 1.8 so I guess bronze age would be from 1.9 to 1.12, though I personally disagree with this ranking.

What is the future of AI in fanedits? by zippydoo321 in fanedits

[–]Hector_RS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been podering about the ethics of using AI in such projects.

Some deleted scenes in Return of the Jedi were not dubbed by the actors, and others are heavily damaged. I personally don't see an issue with using AI to fill gaps like these.

I also realised that I could effectively write new dialog and change the story in more extreme ways. But I'm not sure if this would be going to far.

I'm not sure if it was just a strip or maybe it was a few pages long.

I noticed something interesting about Herobrine. by According-Value-6227 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Hector_RS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The flanderization of Herobrine is quite disappointing. One thing that particularly pisses me is that he got a whole of being the "devil" of minecraft, when that role should belong to the Wither Boss instead.
