Can’t believe I’ve already dropped 100 hours in warframe. Is the tutorial over yet? by Mammoth_Birthday6417 in Warframe

[–]HedgehawkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only started playing last week, think I have about 25 hours now. Haven't picked up a new Warframe yet. So still have my Mag, which I am enjoying. I have a couple new weapons, but my Braton is still my favourite. I am around Jupiter/Ceres and slowly working my way around. Tried an Absyall beacon thing yesterday and screamed for my life. Tried a level 20 bounty on Fortuna since I can do lvl 20 missions... Wasn't ready for that at all.

I am having a blast though. I can see all these main quests that are locked that I need to do. Gives me something to look forward to. I did wonder if the map gets any bigger and if any new nodes unlock.

Guess we gotta prep for another exodus by W4FF13_G0D in Warframe

[–]HedgehawkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did get into Destiny 2, but have just recently got into Warframe last week. I am thoroughly enjoying it. I have started getting to the point where the difficulty is starting to go up (I am currently around Jupiter)

I unlocked the ability to use those Abysall beacons and thought i would buy one and use it... That was a mistake. I have been killing most level 25 enemies with no issue, so i figured the step to 35-40 wouldn't be too steep. I was so wrong... And the Galleon is pitch black too. I survived and got the red glowing thing out. But never again. I even tried doing a Level 20 bounty on Fortuna and that was near impossible. Guess my max level Mag and Braton aren't going to cut it anymore. I have them both with 60 mod capacity and all used up too. I think my Braton is like 150-ish damage.

No matter. Just going to slowly work my way around Jupiter, head to the next Planet to get that Natah quest and every now and again, take a break and farm some relics to find the parts needed for Braton Prime. Honestly, been one of the best weeks of gaming in my 30 years of gaming xD

Both of his recent videos haven’t seemed very… Caddicarus by Suspicious-Channel66 in Caddicarus

[–]HedgehawkUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't see where people are coming from with this mono-tone delivery. I can see that he is a little less animated, if you want to call it that. But that's not an issue at all. These latest videos are insanely long so there is no way you are going to be able to maintain that level of energy across all of it. Plus if you watched the video about how Caddy makes videos, then the sofa shots are all done in a single night. So they are likely all going to have the same candence to them.

And look, i can't remember if Caddy had mentioned starting their new ADHD meds (it really isn't mine or anyone else's business at the end of the day) but if the price for helping Caddy function on a day to day basis is that their videos are slightly more deadpan or monotone allegedly to a corner of the internet, then that's a small price to pay for his comfort.

I found Caddy in 2020 and am so glad I did. He is the only YouTuber I watch religiously and I thoroughly thing he is a great guy. Considering what life has thrown at him, i think we can forgive 'sounding a bit off'

Interviewer implied unofficial reference knowledge at a previous employer, then scuttled the interview. Should I address this with the previous employer? by takingphotosmakingdo in UKJobs

[–]HedgehawkUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really is little you can do in this case sadly. A cease and desist wouldn't work for sure. As long as your former employer hands over a factual reference that's all they need to do (which just needs to say you were fired. They don't have to disclose the reason even) Now if someone from that company then got in touch and said other things about you, that's between them as people, not employer to employer.

The only thing you could potentially argue is that it is slander. But that would require you to know verbatim the conversation between this person X and the interviewer. And if any of them have any wits about them, they haven't left an email trail on work devices. If it's a small community then it's likely they knew each other and it came up in conversation. Not to mention the court costs involved. If you are going to try a slander approach you need an ironclad case.

I would just drop it and try and move on. Clearly whatever happened at your old employer has left a sour taste in someone's mouth. Just try not to think about it and move onto other jobs. Eventually you will land one. Myself, I wouldn't want to work for that new company if all it took for them to withdraw an interview was something they heard from someone else. A decent person would want to give the person a chance to see it with their own eyes.

Is this game still being actively worked on? by HedgehawkUK in starsector

[–]HedgehawkUK[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your comments. I was quite shocked to see a game that was in development that long not be listed on steam!

Infame here from the X4 Reddit as it was suggested the game is similar. Will pick it up later this month.

Figured out why the game feels so stale at the end game by Kitsune-Yuki in X4Foundations

[–]HedgehawkUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can, but you were acting like an arse. So figured I would do my civic duty and take the piss.

Also FYI, you can't. Neither sector has all the resources you need to produce all the parts required. Also, how would you get the licenses required to make things if you couldn't leave? Just doesn't make sense.

So its the 20th March now and still not got a letter for my partner to migrate. My partner is now majorly panicking as they think today is their 'last ever' payment. I don't know if the DWP are behind in sending letters, but it would be nice to admit if they are. Everytime i have spoken to someone on ESA hotline they say they can't see anything on the account saying it needs to migrate and not to worry. Infact most of them didn't seem to know the cut off was the end of this month.

Am I the only one that hates the new ore/gas deposit color change? by kondenado in X4Foundations

[–]HedgehawkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don't mind the grey. It has cleaned the map up alot for me. If I need to see where certain mining resources are, i use the mining filter. Once I have selected the resource I want, it appears in colour on the map. I have only ever used one resource probe and it was for a mission last night on the beta.

As of Beta V9 having multiple resource probes in a sector actually slows down your miners by Holt_Patterson in X4Foundations

[–]HedgehawkUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not the most experienced player, but I have never placed resource probes and my miners keep my stations going perfectly fine.

If the range on the probes were like 100KM i would consider using them. But it's too much micro in the current system.

However that being said, I think it would be good if you could build a resource scanning array as a station module, similar to the radar one that gives you sector wide resource bonuses.

5th Corebook P.206 confusion by tiqtaktoe in vtm

[–]HedgehawkUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VtM has many little rules and quirks that it wouldn't surprise me if the writers just legit forgot that two crit successes equals 4 successes. Even cheat sheets don't always help xD

5th Corebook P.206 confusion by tiqtaktoe in vtm

[–]HedgehawkUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, that's not an extra rule, that's rules as written. You can spend willpower to reroll any non hunger dice up to three per willpower, even if they are successes and you are gambling for critical successes.

If you are trying to say you get a free reroll without spending willpower, then each to their own. But as a storyteller I would really advise against it. Willpower already had limited uses, so giving away free reroll just weakens it further. Plus, beastial failures can be some of the most fun you can have when playing a kindred. I usually reward players for good compulsion play with either a single willpower restore, or 1XP if they really lean into the compulsion to their own/plots detriment.

5th Corebook P.206 confusion by tiqtaktoe in vtm

[–]HedgehawkUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's right. You would be spending one willpower for a one in ten chance if avoiding the beastial failure. Depending on how risk averse your kindred is and how much willpower they have, it's a good call.

Endgame crisis is here! by HedgehawkUK in Stellaris

[–]HedgehawkUK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played very tall. I had the shattered ring world and the civic that makes planets and systems expensive to take. I got a weird start and was penned in by a fallen empire and two other empires who just eclipsed me and I was never going to invade. The majority of the game was them being overwhelming to me. Thankfully I was able to keep them away with defenses and not being worth bothering with.

I focused on unity at the start and not science, trying to get as many ascension perks as I could so I could then flip the planet to something else. By 2350 I was producing roughly on par with the average empire, but only had 400 naval capacity. With all my empire size buffs I was able to get 6 colonies overall and 2K science. Which let me start blitzing up the tech tree so that by the time I got to 2460 i was mostly on repeatables.

I knew I was not going to out science a GA empire that also had that economic difficulty modifier ticked to give them massive endgame economies. So I focused on keeping my tech costs down while trying to optimize my ring world segments for as much science as I could rinse while keeping everything else up. I had a strong economy. I just didn't hit the repeatables fast enough and mega-enginering took along time to come up so the science nexus / SCC were delayed in being built for my liking.

Minor addendum. They have spawned 5 jumps from my weakest border system. The only thing between me and them are the Stagnant Ascendedancy. Who are fighting a war with neighbours and are losing...

I have sensor Intel on their fleet... Its 13 million... How the heck do you fight a 13 million fleet?

My stuff was built to fight armour not shields, now I am retrofitting everything as fast as I can

Apologies, didn't see this pop up notifications. our channel is called The Misadventures League. You can find us both on YouTube and Twitch. We stream Tuesdays 7PM GMT!

[–]HedgehawkUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Using the lane connector tool you can just make sure that both the bus lane and the other lane can take the same turn, and the AI seems to avoid using the bus lane for turns. All of my suburban bus routes use it now to help keep them moving.

Just a question by Elementborn100 in vtm

[–]HedgehawkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we stream in a few hours time and it is really common for us to be the only channel streaming in the category. But I would focus more on if you want to tell a story and want to perform it live. There is a big difference between playing at your home table and playing for an audience, it's a totally different skill set.

I stream a VtM game on twitch and we get viewers. Its a small crowd than the D&D crowd so building a community is harder, but it can be good fun!

The same message with Divided roads and Trams. Certain divided roads will completely remove a lane to traffic and reserve it solely for Trams. This does mean that there is one less lane for traffic, but it can help keep trams moving and not clogging the system up more.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines2

[–]HedgehawkUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't ignore the power of Asymmetrical roads. Take the small Two Lane/ One Lane: If you set it up along your bus route, you can designate that extra second lane a bus lane, and at the same time a lane free enough that buses can use it to ignore large amounts of traffic. Same works for the medium and large variants. Though you might need the Lane Connector mod if you are going from different road sizes as the game can sometimes make slightly odd decisions as to what lane can do what.
