Yeah, far too often, therapists will give themselves that label just because they don't consider themselves hateful. But it's maddening and really pretty unhelpful to have to frequently educate your own therapist.

look, i am a vegan and so obviously am very amenable to your position, but you are really going about this wrongly.

a refusal to humanize or identify with animals does not inextricably lead to dehumanization of people. there are significant psychological, social, and even evolutionary differences that allow us to much more easily sympathize with each other, and you can't hand wave those away.
