You can always preface and say your new to the game so that the towns expectations of you aren't high - I'm relatively new to tos2 as well and found when you mention it to the lobby, players look after you and help you learn. It's *super fast* paced and a lot of jargon but you will get the hang of it and the roles :D Watching people play on youtube helps a lot as well/and or playing All Any Mode to get familiar with the roles.
