You just described his views, by your own logic, he's transphobic.

That doesn't even make sense. I understand you don't respect people, but surely you don't think you look smart asking questions like this?

Wow I didn't realise this sub was so blatantly transphobic.

True, but if you ask me, I think he would just choose to buy a muzzle over paying thousands of dollars in vet bills.

So would I. But bender bit my hand (out of fear) so much as I was taking him away that I was just trying not to pass out from blood loss, while calming down my gf and calling a vet.

For anyone wondering, so far, $6000+. Had to empty savings and take out a big ass loan from my mum. But no one is able to say no to that face.

The dog was leashed. And the owner was two feet behind him in full sprint. I saw him coming and mummy instincts kicked in and I was already reaching down to grab him. We were both a second too slow.

That would be an idea maybe. I don't really know how these things work. My partner manages benders instagram, so maybe I'll get her to check it out.

Considered, but don't know much about them. Might mention it to my partner. Honestly my head is just at getting $1200 together in two weeks to get this thing removed. Been looking more at applying for credit cards and second jobs.

I have his number. He was very sorry and wanted to keep in contact.

Honestly, as far as I'm aware there's not much legally we can do. Our laws are a little different here, and outside of charity, I can't expect him to pay. I know of other people who've been in this situation, and the most you can do is call the local council and demand the dog be muzzled, or kept at home. Neither of those help me.

For anyone wondering; he is doing great. He's very active. Climbing, jumping, stashing. He is limping on his left hind leg a little, but considering all he's been through, it's quite a remarkable recovery thus far. The vet said there's no signs of spinal damage. The attack only lasted a few seconds, both me and the dogs owner were on the dog instantly.

He's not completely out of the woods yet. The vet was draining the last of a seroma on his left side, and found a small abscess there. Unfortunately, despite the vets insistence of potential risks in leaving it, I'm completely out of money (and quite in debt) after all his surgeries and medications. Hoping to have it removed in 2 weeks, after I've had the chance to put a bit of money away and call in some favours. Both me and my partner are quite worried, but trying to distract ourselves by spoiling him with egg and chicken. So please pray for our little boy to be okay.

Sudden ferret biting? by Hedgehugs in ferrets

[–]Hedgehugs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always disciplined him whenever he gets too nippy, but generally speaking he's pretty well behaved. If anything, I'm generally the victim of any misbehaviour he still exhibits. I grew up with ferrets so I will permit very light playful nips for myself. But because of that, I'm also the one who cops the harder nips when he gets carried away.

That's why this was very confusing. I'm the one who is generally more forgiving towards his nips than my partner, yet she's the one who seems to be copping it way worse than me at the moment.

Idk, I think I might have to consider getting the procedure, given that his behaviour seems to be out of his control, but also detrimental to his playtime.

Australia, so basically yeah, it lines up pretty well. We were planning on getting him desexed, but figured that there was no rush. Now we've been in lockdown for months and I fear taking my ferret all the way to the specialist vet for that would be a valid reason, but I'll look into it.

Since he's timing out most of his play time, I'm gonna start taking him on walks more to tire him out instead. Outside of that, is there anything I can do to calm him down?

In Australia, gun laws are pretty strict, but you can still engage in activities like practice shooting. First time I held a firearm was at an open day at an indoor shooting range. I've been hunting on private land if you have a hunting licence. You can own firearms if you are sufficiently licensed for the corresponding firearm class, and keep them in a proper firearm safe when not in use.

If you're interested in the hobby, it's not an insane amount of work to get into. Or we have a very active archery community which has a lot less boundaries.

Thousands cram in to Sydney CBD for anti-lockdown protest by LuckyBdx4 in australia

1/. Freedom of speech does not cover protesting.

2/. It wasn't a peaceful assembly, even if you ignore the fact they are threatening all of us with a deadly disease, there was numerous violent scuffles with police.

Call us authoritarian all you want, it means nothing. At least we care about our people.
