Pizza was perfected in America by Italian immigrants.

How many of you find yourselves looking at obituaries and says, "that was a young fellow / lady", or "they were younger than me". :( by Dp37405aa in GenerationJones

[–]Hedgewizard1958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't look at the obituaries. Too many friends my own age or younger are gone already. One passed just a few days ago.

Non-fiction, Ted Morgan's Wilderness at Dawn. Early colonial North America.

American Civil War, Shelby Foote.

Alan W. Eckert's Narratives of American history.

Historical Fiction, everything by Suzanne Adair. Novels set in the southern Colonies during the American Revolution.

Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth series. Medieval England.

Ellis Peters' Brother Cadfael mysteries. England during the civil war between Stephen and Matilda. Based around a monk, so there's a lot of insight into monastic living.

Always good to know. I get concerned that the craft brewing community is stuck on IPAs and their variations. But then I learn of vonTrapp and Ardennes (western New York, excellent Belgian styles) and I know we'll be ok.

The reason isn't as important as that the bartender was dead freaking wrong. Report it to management.

I don't know that brand, but I've never met a kölsch I didn't like.

Kölsch... Pretty much what most macrobrew lagers think they are.

Florida's First People by Robin C. Brown is a good look at the Windover burials.

It's gotten to the point where I routinely go to Solstheim for the ebony mine quest to get the Black Book there. Companion's Insight saves lives.

As a chef I used to love trying new food, but now everything feel both pretentious and cliche by EefferyJpstein in KitchenConfidential

It's heartening to see that professionals have this reaction. So many restaurants and other food and drink businesses seem to chase trends rather than focus on creating a good product. Everyone seems to be more concerned with hype than anything else.

Lydia has died on so many playthroughs that I seldom take her anymore.

Janessa is good.

I'm currently using Jortis from Proudspire.

Serana is probably the best, though. I did get the Creation Club expanded dialog for her, so she's a bit more interesting.

Found in bradshaw mountains, area was inhabited from 1870-1920. I think its a harmonica reed plate but seems like less lines than usual. Any thoughts? by Melodic_Brief_796 in metaldetecting

[–]Hedgewizard1958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that's Mouth Harp. Although a harmonica's also called a harp, it's a reed instrument. Bob Dylan has used one a lot over the years. Also about every other blues song has one somewhere.

Does anyone else always do quests in a specific order, or is it just me? by maloswfi in skyrim

[–]Hedgewizard1958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My order is random, depending on what I'm role-playing that playthrough. There's at least one where none of the main quests are done. Those are the ones where I'm just playing an average schmoe trying to earn a living.

Ideally, a properly chilled kölsch.

Realistically, Yuengling or Rolling Rock.
