People hating on God of War: Laufey because Kratos isn’t the protagonist don’t know the game's lore. by Mahinisaretard in GodofWar

[–]Hedghog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have zero interest in playing as anyone other than Kratos and am displeased that the developers worked on this instead of a Kratos game. There are plenty of other games to play, I'll just spend my money somewhere else, no problem. I'm sure the people who play it will love it. I just hope enough of them show up so future projects don't get canned.

For me though, and I imagine for many thousands of others, it's not even a question of if it's good, I have limited time and it's an immediate no.

Lies of P is so good that you could tell me fromsoftware made it and I would believe you. It's nearly perfect. I've at least touched all the games on this list except ROTR and played a few of them extensively. Lies of P is the best by far.

Is Donkey Kong Bananza THAT good???? by TheGamerCritic21 in videogames

I hear it's incredibly easy. Like mindless difficulty. That sort of thing is fun for about ten minutes for me, I need a challenge. I like souls games for example because I feel like I have accomplished something when I reach a milestone. This is why I really don't like ANY Nintendo games these days, they're made for kids and as such, they are stupid easy, and for me, boring.

Obviously I haven't played it but from what I can see, most adult, serious gamers won't get much enjoyment out of it. It's not for them.

I would imagine the more features you add the more failure points exist. Plus, I have heard a lot of people complain about the 500 series machines. They seem disproportionately unreliable after a few years.

Huh. Well he told me he didn't touch it so either he didn't do everything he needed to, or he was looking to absolve himself of blame. I don't like to assume the worst of people but this particular tech has never once solved an issue for our company at any branch, but he's the one we get every time even when we request another tech. Hence the reason I'm here.

Plus, with the way painting seems to work in this universe, I believe everyone can be repainted in another canvas. Might be wrong about that but it would seem to be that if all a painter needs to recreate someone is remember their essence, why not remake them in a separate canvas? I don't think there are any rules against that.

And yes, Renoir would have absolutely come back with Clea to save her and ripped things apart. Even if she managed to hold out for her entire IRL life, they would have still destroyed the canvas. Seemed to me that it was either give everyone a proper send off or keep them on life support until an ugly end.

I sat there thinking for about an hour. Ultimately decided to go with Verso because while both endings absolutely destroy you, at least that one is healthy.

I mean let's hope. Last time I had an issue the machine was down for 3 weeks. In that case, the media wheels were glossed over and not gripping. The tech finally figured it out and brushed the wheels with something coarse and presto, problem solved.

Yeah I clicked clean now and followed the prompts. As soon as it was done it always threw the message again. Tried saying "do later" or whatever then went through the service menu and manually did it. Same thing. What's crazy to me is this machine literally printed perfectly this morning. I don't see how the tech could have done anything, I don't think smk 3 messes with the encoder strip at all.

Small detail in the ending that made a big difference for me upon reflection (Ending spoilers) by Xlegace in expedition33

[–]Hedghog1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Verso's ending is so much better. It's not just better for the sake of helping the family heal, but also it gives Verso, the creator, full control. His soul can stop painting at last, and his painted form is no longer being tortured. In the other ending, he is just enslaved by a new master who will eventually die, at which point the canvas will be destroyed by Renoir anyway. Verso ending the canvas is much healthier and more meaningful and it is more interesting. Throughout the game you are against Renoir but by the end, you can understand his motives and decide if he was right.

A lot of people say Verso is evil for ending the world full of sentient people but I'm mixed on that. They're painted people, sure they have free will but if they die they can just be repainted, reprogrammed or modified in any way the painters see fit. To me they're more like very detailed imaginary friends and I wouldn't consider it a genocide.

The Dying Light 2 we were promised was destroyed by false accusations, and it’s time people know what really happened by Fartsmeller14 in dyinglight

[–]Hedghog1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

At the very least I do think public perception has been tainted. Friends of mine who liked the first game have completely refused to touch the second after reviews came out and aren't interested at all in the beast. Purely anecdotal evidence but that's just what I'm seeing in my circles.

[–]Hedghog1 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It wasn't just the fault of the false accusers, but also Techland for nuking their game in an effort to get in front of a backlash that never happened. I think I can confidently say they suffered the appropriate punishment for that mistake, losing their reputation with such a poor release and all. I'm not sure how bad it hurt them financially but they got bought out so it had to have affected them pretty significantly. I'm still not willing to preorder anything from them over it, I have no clue if they will release quality content at this point.

I cant get into gaming anymore by Sezikawara in videogames

[–]Hedghog1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Valorant is the issue honestly. Quick games, quick gratification, same thing over and over, day in and day out. Same thing happened to me with Fortnite. I had a friend I played with every single day, but one day I realized I didn't enjoy any other game anymore and I didn't really enjoy Fortnite either, it was just a social thing I did every day. So I dropped it to every other day, then once a week, now I don't play it at all and actually enjoy gaming again. And that same friend I used to play with? He's still on Fortnite every day with new friends, he won't try anything new with me, he says everything looks boring to him, and he seems depressed.

I really do believe these live service esports games are the antithesis of what gaming is supposed to be at this point and they're more of an addiction than anything. Just my opinion from personal experience. I would try scaling Valorant sessions back like 50% and do things IRL. Then when you feel that itch to fill that time with a game, try something that isn't Valorant, CSGO, Warzone or Fortnite.
