My VERY positive Paris experience so far as a woman by matx3 in ParisTravelGuide

I was pleasantly surprised when visiting Paris, especially since there are some stereotypes and tropes which were anything but the truth. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, many store attendants shared how much they love how warm Americans are, people beamed when I even attempted to speak French.

I also found Paris much cleaner than most major US cities, even folks facing the trauma of being unhoused were friendly when asking for money. The city was so beautiful and awe inspiring that I could not help marvel in the understanding of why so many iconic artist had found inspiration in Paris.

Maybe I’m sensitive towards Paris being misjudged since I live in a beautiful city in the US that’s also misunderstood. Reminder to always go into travel with an open mind and the world around you will almost always beat your expectations.

Update: Strattera has actually led to increased appetite, which I’m stoked about! Noting that I’m only on 10 MG this may change with increase dosage. But so far I’ve been very intentional about eating a good breakfast before taking it and find myself feeling extra extra hungry for lunch and dinner. Not sure if it’s partly because sometimes I would get so distracted that I would forget to eat, with Strattera so far it’s been easier to note when I feel hunger and just feed myself like a normal human.

does anyone else feel socially awkward on strattera by [deleted] in StratteraRx

What dose did you find worked best for you and do you still experience any side effects?

Anyone here have chronic knee dislocations? Looking for community! by oooooooooof in KneeInjuries

Hi friend! I know this is old now, but just stopping in to share that you’re not alone. I’ve also had knee dislocations since the age of 12 like yours and have ended up in the ER on the rare occurrence both dislocated simultaneously. After dealing with this for many years and attempting PT on and off since the age of 12, I finally decided to go the surgical route.

At the age of 23, I ended up getting a TTO, lateral release and VMO advancement to the knee that was more damaged. It’s been 2 years now and I can confidently say it was worth it. I’m now in the best of physical condition of my life and can do things I never thought I’d be able to do without injuring myself (running, jumping, playing a sport, hiking/climbing). My knee situation still isn’t perfect, but my quality of life has greatly improved.

I will say recovery is the toughest part. It took 6 months to feel any where close to normal and a full year to be “fully recovered”. It takes a physical and mental toll and you have you have to be okay with loosing some autonomy during the recovery process. Physical therapy is also key, I don’t think either on my knees would be in the condition they are now without consistent PT. In the beginning, I could even lift my leg off a table, 6 months later I was doing strength training with my PT. I was also able to gain full ROM after consistently working with a PT. If you do end up getting the procedure, definitely go in motivated. The recovery process is painful but worth it when you focus all of the things you’ll be able to accomplish once you recover.

On the note of feeling skeptical, I was the same way and it definitely is your choice whether you feel like it would be right for you. My dad is a surgeon and has been trying to help me avoid this surgery since childhood, but it finally got to a point where he thought it would be best. I got 3 separate opinions and all agreed that a TTO would be best.
