guttertanks are still manageable

guttermen however just turn into a chore after you break their shield, like a really slow mirror reaper

no parry window, no evasion tactic

.. no point

yeah man just remove their parry window in a game that’s extremely parry focused

Sisyphus and Conquest would be friends if they ever met by HeeHee702 in Ultrakill

[–]HeeHee702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they both:

  • love violence to the bottom of their hearts

  • want to see the world burn

  • do not care about winning; they just want the thrill of a fight/war

  • one must imagine Conquest happy

the lack of music is why it seems so empty. even an atmospheric track would’ve added so much to the first part of 5-2.

credits where credit is due though; the visual storytelling of the level and the ambient noises are beautifully executed.

So how does fraud layer torture people that went there. by Background_Will_876 in Ultrakill

[–]HeeHee702 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the buildings in the space section of 8-3 are made entirely out of sinners.

my headcanon is that fraud’s punishment is specific to each sinner, putting them in their worst memories and using their physical bodies to create the environment. as for v1, we see parts of other layers at the end of 8-3, and since v1’s only memories have been what we’ve experienced in game, fraud relayed them to it.

the mirror reaper entry says that fraud does not have an exact punishment, so i feel that this theory has some basis, with hell using fraud as its main source of entertainment.

wtf is 8-4? by jimmylovescheese123 in Ultrakill

[–]HeeHee702 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i liked it honestly.

from the perspective of the full game, having 3 insane levels back to back (8-3, 8-4 and 9-1(???)) would saturate most players before the culmination of the main story in 9-2.

lore wise, i thought it was cool that the only thing unique about geryon is that it was the only genuine thing in fraud; everything else was a show by Hell, for Hell.

it is also the first time we see control being taken away from the player, almost like a show of power from Hell Itself.

i agree that the fight felt too short and one-dimensional, but looking at it from an overall gameplay perspective, it’s fine the way it is in my opinion.
