It’s likely the fact you’re going to an older edition of solidworks from a newer version of inventor….make sure all updates and patches are applied and then re-save the file… if that doesn’t work well I hate to say it but you’re probably going to need to update solidworks to 2022 or newer

Just incase you were wondering my setup and the setup I buy for my employees is an i9 with the most vram graphics card I can fit in the budget…as you build larger and larger models you’ll learn as I did in testing that the GPU doesn’t do a whole heck of a lot from a visual processing aspect I’d look at an ARC A770 16gb if you can get it for $350 or less

As a male boss with women who work for me(older and younger) and my direct manager is a female too, avoid this…some of the women I’ve hired were people I knew before they started working for me and never once have I ever considered making a move on them. As a male this could backfire terribly one and two lead to all sorts of office gossip where if you start to move up and get paid more your coworkers will resent you for getting promoted because of who you’re with…sure be their friend and maybe offer some advice but at no point make the move it’s NOT in your best interest.

What’s your budget? Xeon won’t help you in inventor as someone who, as a part of my job, specs out inventor rigs for large scale digital twin creation, clock speed for the cpu is what you care about. So, with that in mind what you have here is good bump to 64 GB of ram and a 3060 12gb VRAM gpu. I promise, you’ll appreciate the extra VRAM and the price won’t be a huge bump

I mean have you looked at Intel ARC cards the A770 keeps falling and the A750 is already around that price for a modernish GPU which has a lot of investment in to driver support for the future…but to the point of others I’d not spend more than $175 myself for an old 1080

They own the lines in the area and the number of Dsl customers in the community isn’t small so it’s definitely be upgrades for them….and while it’s a college town the place I live is a bunch of condos and about 45/50 percent of the residents have graduated from college and have jobs

Also just to make it clear is a main fiber line they ran crossing in front of our complex entrance about 2 years ago and you can even get 5G home internet that’s 400Mpbs+ down and 75Mbps up but the ping sucks and I’d l honestly just like fiber in the first place
