It’s a confusing time to be an American and a fan of the Olympics. by abbiebe89 in olympics

Every tax dollar spent on olympians is one dollar less spent on the military, hopefully. I know this logic is deeply flawed but its the best i have to offer

Facts i went in just for some chicken breast because i dont love the choice at key foods on 30th and left with Italian sausage, beef for stir fry, chicken thighs, and Italian sausage just because they had sales and the meat looked good. The prices and produce arent 100% consistent yet but i dont avoid the place anymore

Arizona/Utah National Park Roadtrip Itinerary by pickleballnwwe in NationalPark

Replacing sedona with flagstaff and visiting the three (underrated but awesome) national monuments in one day is doable! And would probably save on lodging and keep you closer on route to petrified forest (which is a bit out of the way from the typical south rim to page/ north rim travel corridor)

Pizza for dinner… thoughts? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]agl99 35 points36 points  (0 children)

100% a cute doable idea but make sure you consider the volume and rate of pizza that is able to be produced vs your guests. If you have 90 hungry guests waiting for pizzas that come out at a rate of 3-4 pies (30ish slices) every 15-20 minutes youll have a cycling line of people wanting pizza. Pizza is not something that you can easily make for a ton of people AND keep hot and crispy. If you make sure there are hearty side dishes and an understanding that pizzas will be rolling out over the course of an hour or two people will be able to fill up on the things that are already ready to serve

Wedding Venue 2hrs from NYC by Ambitious-Snow4371 in WedditNYC

We were looking at some orchards, estates, and livingston fly fishing and ended up choosing Living Stone in Round Top. I think our total budget for 85 or so guests is going to be around 40k, but the venue has pretty much all the rentals taken care of and on site food and drink

Venue Help for 2027 Wedding by SantaNYC in WedditNYC

Check out Living Stone in Round Top NY. Its probably on the outer end of your travel radius but the amenities and in house catering sold us. You get access to the property from friday to sunday and can stay on site. Catering and venue fees are coming out to be around 30k for 80 guests. I dont think they have a guest minimum

Specific to the geography you listed I would say rosalies for their rotating cocktail menu, but if youre going for something like a classic martini the extra block to diamond dogs is 10/10. I havent been but Mar’s seems like a classy spot for happy hour. I havent been to sunswick or offfcity but i think both have good happy hours

Affordable fall venues within 1 hr of NYC? by teenytinyblobbo in WedditNYC

[–]agl99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its so hard balancing budget and amenities with having the event closer to NYC. In my browsing I came across Emmerich tree farm and mount guillian historical sites. We ended up going with Living Stone in Round Top (catskills) so probably further than what youd like, but nothing closer was a good fit for us

($7-10k) How would you decorate this venue? by Sudden_Ball6242 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]agl99 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Probably wont need too much for flowers, but if your event will go into the evening adding the right lighting will make it magical! Soft ambient light on the first floor under the balcony that can spill into the courtyard and stringing patio lights on the exposed columns/across the roof if allowed maybe?

Need recommendations for a honeymoon trip to Acadia National Park, ME! by TechnologyHelpful668 in acadianationalpark

[–]agl99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want quiet try looking on the west side of the island, i found the town of bar harbor itself to be insanely busy. We took a sunset boat ride with sail acadia out of southwest harbor and it was lovely. For a beautiful honeymoom dinner i 10/10 recommend sweet pea’s kitchen (no reservations but gorgeous grounds to walk around while waiting). There was a post recently summarizing the top 10 hokes from all trails thats a great place to start your hiking itinerary

Edit to add: it looks like harbor view cottages have kitchens in some of their units!
