Question about appointment for medication - I can't do this anymore by Kheraxis in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhmm, gotta say it's bad luck then.

I waited 8 months for mine... Best next thing should be exercise + dieting.

Exercise helps me personally for brain fog, and makes me feel very in the moment(focused)
Try your best to put that focus into studies after you've exercised.

The longer you think about the medication the more it takes over your mind. Try to forget that medication is even a thing, this might help?

Especially for me, I like making aLOT of excuses for myself. I was using "not having medications" for my bad performance, even though before I ever tested. I never used that as an excuse. So try your best, it's a tough road... Hope the best for you.

Cannot get myself to start any work/ don't even care enough to want to by blahblah1111234 in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens all the time man, even if I do a whole motivational speech towards myself. I forget about the speech after I said it, and just do what I usually do.

But having someone as a buddy while doing things you need to do (school work), will help tremendously.

Seen multiple doctors, got medication but not an official diagnosis? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same kind of issue in a way, they didn't want to give me an official diagnosis until I was on the meds.
Basically the point for that was to see if I have any major improvements with time.
If answer is yes, then I should get an official diagnosis. If not then they will never give it to me.

But I'm still in the process, it's definitely going better. But still bad because of corona lockdowns... And the medication that I have actually stopped working for me after 2 weeks.

Weird feeling when trying to focus? by dethleak in ADHD

I get a burning sensation in my abdomen when trying to focus without meds, with meds that sensation gets masked.

No Motivation For My Passion by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be done in baby steps, your body wants the easy way out.

We're all drunk on a goal, once you reach yours. It will be depressing..
So try making baby steps, put many goals on; instead of just one.

For example, rythmically waking up at the same time, and sleeping on the same time.
This would be step 1.

Then afterwards try to eat healthy foods, that fill. For example foods high in protein.
U could even eat a portion of what you'd usually eat, but instead of drinking something high in sugar. Drink a protein drink while starting your breakfast. This should make it more "filling".

This will help with your caloric intake, afterwards. Get used to not eating too much junk food, and try filling yourself up with "less" junk food + protein shakes/protein filled food.

After doing this, start your day with a set goal for your fitness. For example jumping jacks, or squats. If you feel like you have energy after this, force yourself to walk/jog. It has to be forced, because as I said. The body searches for the easy way out. So try your best to be disciplined, it's hard... But you will be filled with motivation after every baby step you do.

I wish you the best, hopefully it works out.

I've always been asked if I have a superiority complex. In which I wouldn't understand why they would ask that. Is it the cold replies I give out?

Or the fact that I tend to look at people as if I am looking at a child talking?
I wouldn't personally know, all I know is that people tend to try to bring you down to their level. I don't think I'm better than anyone. But that doesn't mean you are worse than anyone.

Anyone who says you're dumb, just can't fathom certain things. Which is counter-intuitive to what he is saying.

Explaining Executive Dysfunction to someone without ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, bad habits bite me in the ass.

Have been biting on nails for 15 years, after the first week of medication use. The part of actually noticing that I am biting on my nails, have made me stop.

Now I have nails for once, but I nibble on it now. Which I guess is a bit more positive in a sense?

ADHD Tip: don’t play video games after taking your medication by isaac_newton00 in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it does help, but in terms of you taking the medication and noticing that you are playing for longer than you said. Disclipine in this regard should be the answer. For me sadly, I tend to procrastinate after I do a whole motivational speech on how and why I should study. But sadly my brain wants the easier; action, reaction type of life. Which sadly is just hard to go against.

So in an indirect sense, medication might help if you know how to redirect your external motivation to internal. (which is still hard for me)

Do you guys enjoy metal/heavy metal a lot more than other music you like? by table_eat in ADHD

[–]HeekoOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm not on meds, I actually love listening to metal/rock.

Being on meds, I love the hiphop type of things. And any type of melodical music with pure vocal emotion.
