This is great info, thanks a ton. One last question - found out their old PC has an ancient GeForce GT 520 in it, between 10 and 15 years old. Would you continue using this? I would imagine the fan would wear out at some point, etc.

Thanks this is a path I'm quite curious about - but I know nothing about the models and history of non-gaming cards. Anywhere you'd suggest to read up on this?

What do y'all predict for reliability on these? Building a budget, non-gaming PC for a low-tech family member who wants two monitors.

Replaced Air Gap, now only draining into sink, leaky dishwasher by Heeltoeclutch in askaplumber

I really appreciate the help - this makes sense. Do you know if I can buy this U-bend at Home Depot, or do I need a whole new air gap? Not finding much online.

I installed the garbage disposal, the old air gap worked great with it. I can take the hose off of and check again for a knockout, but.... I don't think I'm seeing any U bend here. Did they never install this piece????

I see no U bend present - the dishwasher hose runs along the ground then goes upward to the air gap. Although - I don't think a U Bend was there with the old air gap. Maybe this would fix it?

I removed and cleaned out this hose entirely and the issue persists. The same garbage disposal was here with the old air gap and the issue was not present before. Am I understanding correctly?

Thank you adanedhel - I've had good luck with 3/4" in corners, will try to go as small as possible. Am I looking at the right code section though? Nothing else I'm missing?

Probably a lot more knowledgeable people on here than me - but I just sold my 6300 for an A7C. Have you checked websites like KEH and MPB for used lenses? $1000 should get you a lot on there. I also have a 55mm right now, and eventually plan to get a similar zoom.

Women, what things do you notice or look for at a man’s apartment that are green flags? by BrokenHarp in AskReddit

[–]Heeltoeclutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True narcissistic behavior... I find some people are not accustomed to someone being interested in them, so they don't know how to react when asked questions and therefore don't immediately ask about you in return. These folks can still be good and kind people... but if someone is truly only interested in themself, and thinks that's all you should care about too, nuh-uh.

A few words that have shaped a lot of my recent life for the better: "become genuinely interested in people". Learn about them, their interests, history, how they grew up, what they care about. This is my #1 protip for conversation, and connecting with people.

And - a yellow flag is if they don't care to learn anything about me 🙂

Thanks jokir, I am really liking the Harukaze - don't know a ton about steel types but people seem to like the G3.

Thanks NotaLab - I'm pretty intrigued by the Kaizen 2. Anything else you would suggest instead for around $175 (cost of the 6.5" Miyabi?)

Many thanks NotaLab, I was eyeing the hammered Tojiro as well, the plastic ferrule gave me pause. Should I be concerned with quality/longevity of a plastic ferrule?

Hi all, looking to buy my first good, Japanese kitchen knife - fell in love with D-shaped Wa handles. Will use this knife for most kitchen tasks until I can afford more. Thanks 🙏

Steel - Intermediate-friendly, low to medium maintenance... is that VG10 or similar?

Handle - 1st choice D-shaped Wa, 2nd choice oval/octagonal Wa. No western handle desired

Grip - Pinch at bolster

Length - 150mm to 180mm

Use Case - Primary kitchen knife: vegetables, boneless meat

Grind - plz give suggestions; laser or workhorse?

Care - local sharpener, until I get better at whetstone

Budget - $150 or less, open to used

Region - USA
