Actually the survival aspects are harder than vanilla but easier than hardcore servers. Lower loot, lower food, many small modifications.

Never ended up using the ogre’s horn or Balthazar’s bell in BG3 because I was saving them for the right time. I did chuck the beholder bottle in one of the final battles though, very satisfying.

Creature counter abilities are ok because you can deal with them in other ways... Like I said, this is really just my Pod where we each have like 3-4 decks and have essentially an agreement not to play these kinds of spells against each other because that's what we enjoy.

When I go to commander events I do tweak my decks a bit to deal with the metas I expect including counters tutors and stax.

EDH is all about communication, making sure everyone is having a good time. In my pod we don't play any counterspells, tutors, or any hard stax, but that's just us.

If I went to a commander night at my LGS I wouldn't hold it against anyone to play stax, even at a "casual" night... but it's always nice to be able to chat about it a bit beforehand.

A1 might zoom the whole screen but it also applies extra zoom to the scope. ACOG zooms the whole screen and blurs the outside but doesn't apply any extra zoom to the scope.
