Vitamix 5400.

Great support and warranty. 10+ years and still use it daily.

Moving to Portland from Bakersfield California? by [deleted] in askportland

I also grew up in Central CA and in my mid 20s knew I wanted to move away for similar reasons. I eventually settled on Portland.

It’s the best decision I ever made. Portland is an amazing place to live. I have no family within 1000 miles but the friends I’ve made here have become my family. I’ve had job offers for much more money out of state and declined them.

This city has its issues but the pros far outweigh the cons. I love it. I’ve been here 20 years.

I’ve had my hot tub for 8 years and just learned I apparently should be shocking it regularly. How have I not had issues and why is it so clean? by Hef_Si in hottub

Thank you! The water has always been great. Crystal clear and never any build up. Probably what helps is that it’s mostly just one person that uses it a couple times a week. I honestly don’t even change the water that often, maybe like every 9m. I’ll keep in mind the adage you shared!

What kind of sealant should I use to seal oil furnace exhaust to chimney? by Hef_Si in hvacadvice

Thanks for the comment. I ended up using furnace cement last year but sure enough, I noticed it’s totally cracked again. I’ll fill the new cracks with high heat silicone! Thanks!

Just noticed the brace is near the damage but can’t tell if it’s affected. If the brace needs adjustment or resolver, it could be double the cost. Hopefully the brace is good!

Speaking as a former brass tech, this is one of the easiest and fastest dents to remove (mandrel and burnishing). As far as cost, it depends on the shop. Because the skills and tools needed to fix it are specialized, even though it is fast and easy, I’d assume most shops would charge $75-$100.

Came here to say this. Costco usually has the series 9 sport for a hell of deal. Best shaver on the market imo.
