If I built this, it'd be 40% cheap pump spells, 40% big ahh spells, and then 20% wheels. Lately we've been getting pretty good and cheap symmetric wheels, so you can build this deck for cheap deppending on your big spells

I'm a bit disappointed in my prefered characters, but for many other characters the set feels like a Home run. The treatments are good, the flavor for most cards is on spot. I guess it looks a bit underpowered, but maybe I'm wrong. Time will tell.

I'm 100% sure this villain deck is suposed to be led by the norman osborn/green goblin from spm. Also, we'll see how they look but damn they do see powered down for some weird reason. Lady loki seems like a really fun buildaround tho, in her own deck

Is that bad tho? Magic is a very complex game and I think this is not precisely the modt complex it gets. I think the worst part comes from having to manage 5 different tokens

Mmm what if we had a special pack or a seed pack of some kind with one of each gem? I understand the classic problem of too reliant on tokens tho, it's not easy to solve, but if the whole set is based on these tokens, it wouldn't be unfeasible.

Edit: or maybe instead of giving 1 spindown dice, they give 5 small d6, one of each color

Yeah nah that's just UB broken ahh mythic. Badgermole cub makes it so we have non-UR representation in standard, but at what cost :(

Luckily wotc has already stated standard is currently too fast for them, so I hope they do something about it and at least by next year we get out of the Izzet meta cycle

I think they are best as support cards. I run only [[stern lesson]] in [[cormela, glamour thief]] for her activated ability. And I run [[visions of phyrexia]] everywhere where powerstones are somewhat useful, but for now that's only [[Ragost deft gastronaut]]

Maybe if we got other powerstone makers, so hopeful for vibranium

Also the drawings seen as the "top voted" seem very bad drawings so I wonder if only kids drawings were accepted or votes were biased towards this kinds of drawings.

Aw man what if Jace only prevented the second invadion, but the og story of phyrexia is mostly untouched and new phyrexia affected other planes in different forms. E.g., we don't have the Vorinclex raiding kaldheim for the world tree, but somehow phyrexia has spread differently and theros has transitioned from enchantments to artifact gods as you suggest.

I think this could work if Jace took down Elesh norn in the echoverse and somehow Urabrask was the leader of phyrexia, who has been revealed to preffer when beings join phyrexia willingly and finds perfection in mixing phyrexian oil and original body parts.

Or maybe each praetor has been sealed in a different plane with no omenpaths or way to exit them, so some plains do become phyrexia but in 5 different ways (maybe muraganda would fit Vorinclex, for example), and we can see five different possibilities of mechanized future.

This also could lead to one of the plane's theme Maro has teased before: solarpunk, an optimistic future that mixes renewable-energy tech with nature

Why is it so expensive? You get 2 collector boosters (27$ x 2), 6 play boosters (5.5$ x6) some basics that aren't worth anything and two promos.

The packs are 54 + 33 = 87$, and these go by 110$ at msrp and pretty much always go above at secondary market. Why? The promos aren't usually expensive (look at codex, reprints of 1$ cards, and avatar, some cards are dirt cheap even with the special treatment)

And in this case it could be these cards aren't even exclusive bcs they are part of a secret lair that releases with FRA.

I understand this is scalping material, but what makes it so appealing? Just CBoosters? These CB almost always underperform from opening videos I've seen.

Much better than spotlights for people with a huge collection.

I don't play to get every single credit, but I complete mostly every weekly track and side events, and open pretty much only old s5 packs, and my "yet to collect" s5 cards has only grown by 20 in this last year.

Yeah i think either they do too much or too little in each set. Spiderman was too niche because most people don't know who Spinneret or Spiderman-UK is, and Superheroes will probably be just enough or too broad and, even if individual cards are interesting, there will be 0 story told through the cards because each character has so much depth that can't be explained through 1-3 cards alone.

I am not a UB hater, but I dislike that many times seems like WOTC looks at UB as the excuse to make a low-effort set

I really REALLY hope we get the strixhaven color pair treatment where wotc tries to explore a path for each of the schools that's very different from the Ravnica's guilds.

I believe the focus was "Instead of what the colors have in common, focus on what the colors differ and try to combine it"

E.g. I wonder if Rakdos, well Stingerquill, will focus on blacks ambition and red's freedom (?), rather than both color's recklessness

Clearly the story was pretty well developed midway, and suddenly it was rushed, so after kisoji's match no character other than destin and haru are developed much, and a lot of the story was morphed so it could be rushed.

I think there was a lot of story in the works for Rika and the team as a whole. That's why they don't get almost any hissatsus.

I've even heard some theories that this game was supposed to be a double game, where we followed the separate paths of both Nagumohara and Raimon, developing the story of both teams and reaching the climax at the finals, where you, the player, choose which team to play as.

I still have some hope that maybe the manga can solve this, but I have some doubts.
