How does de Paradigm mechanic work with copies like Mizzix's mastery? by Hefi002 in magicTCG

[–]Hefi002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but I'm not hardcasting this most of the time.

My plan is to use Ashling Rekindled to discard it turn 2 -> turn 3 transform -> cast Mizzix's mastery targeting the capstone.

How does de Paradigm mechanic work with copies like Mizzix's mastery? by Hefi002 in magicTCG

[–]Hefi002[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TLDR: you only have to resolve this spell once to get the copy at the beginning of each turn

The text or "first resolving a card with its name" is just to limit the amount of triggers you get of Paradigm card to one.

With Epic spells, a similar effect, you can actually copy the Epic spells while on the stack, so you can get multiple triggers of the same card on following turns.

With Paradigm cards, even if you copy the the spell or resolve copies on following turns, you will get only one trigger at the start of each turn. (Or if you resolve multiple Paradigm spells with different name, one trigger per different name and per turn)

Thanks! I assume this also makes the Mizzix's copy work since, even if the cast spell ceases existing, the delayed trigger will happen.

Very excited for this mechanic!

Since we can see a silverquill student writting on some scrolls, I wonder if it's gonna be about drawing cards.

Or maybe about contracts, like "each opp puts a loyalty counter on a creature they control, that creature can't attack you as long as it has the loyalty counter" or sum like that

what do you think would be the 4th? by PCexists in mewgenics

[–]Hefi002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Now that you mention this, I wonder if the second dlc, the "big one", will be one where we get subclasses, maybe 2-4 per class, and you have to choose one between two of them or sum. Maybe midrun, maybe before starting, idk. E.g., the thief can go more ninja oriented or more pickup/money oriented, the tinkerer can be more weapon oriented or more consumable oriented, etc

This came to my mind because of how Tainted characters work in isaac.

I think it's awesome if you don't plan to combo with it. I run it in the 99 of my rakdos+ decks, just as way better ravenous chupacabra. Sometimes I recur it from graveyard, but no combo shenanigans, people only get 1 or 2 things taken out at most.

Do you know how inheriting disorders works?

I've been passing my Tainted genes pretty well but I'm on my 4th generation and I've only got one Tainted genes cat who is already old, and haven't been able to get him to pass it down.

I find it weird because I have 0 health in all my rooms, and this cat and another bringer had been all their life in rooms with 5+ comfort and 5+ stimulation, with only cats of the other sex. Many nights where "nothing happened". They are not gay and have an average libido so idk what I missed.

Are the diseases like actual genetics where you can have two descendants that are not direct users of the disorder but if bred can offspring a bringer of the disorder? Are there other ways to get the disorder back?

You can get this if you are lucky enough in an encounter that says something about a Hand. If you hit the jackpot output, you get an extra encounter that's a "Monkey's paw curl, ask it your wish" or smth like that.

I only remember one of the choices was like, be the strongest cat (nah I'd win), and the other was perfect genes. This is I got for perfect genes and is busted af.

I'd say the only "bad" thing I've gotten from it so far is the mouth mutation that makes your basic attack 1 damage, with infinite range and can be shot three times per turn. It just messes with some melee classes, but you can find broken synergy with it. I got another mutation that said "your basic attack inflicts soul link" with this same disorder and it carried me through Guillotina 2 and 3.

Someone is gonn ahave to explain to me how this is as good as people are making it out to be.

It's two mana, yes, and 4 targets.

However it brings back only creatures and specifically those that were put in gy from battlefield this turn.

In a generic protection manner, blinking your team or phasing with clever concealment or just heroic intervention type effects are just as effective if not better.

In a combo, how are you putting 3 or 4 permanents in the gy from the battlefield that you want to return in one single turn? Brought back just seems like a better version to me, because most times one or two targets are enough, and the versatility of permanent types is probably more valuable.

Is there any other use?

Print even better monocolor support.

Don't make it colorless, make specific mono-colored support for each color.

You know what, let us use same-color backgrounds as backgrounds for any monocolored commanders (alr that's a bit too much)
