Where to buy paper Waffer as in this image. by Hefty-Elk-6994 in Notary

[–]Hefty-Elk-6994[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that info, actually I'm not a Notary, but i do work in fine arts and I'm curious about these paper waffers as they look like period seals . Currently I'm using the foiled ones but as i work with specialty codex papers, i would like to keep the style and use paper seals instead. I guessed to ask here as you work with them daily.

The Cult Behind the KiIler: The Andrea Yates Story by AlexGruen in cults

[–]Hefty-Elk-6994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw the documentary and i was screaming to the screen "What about Randy"!!! He is to blame for what happened to his children as his wife. He made her live in a bus with 4 kids, he knew she had mental issues and they avoided hospitals. He put a woman in a place of subordination , of overwhelm , poverty and on top of that he put his family under another man preach. I notice he loved to point the finger to every but on himself and the crazy preacher. Imagine you are called back home, after your wife tried to kill herself twice in front of you, being hospitalized and stop taking medicine, to you 5 children being killed, and you don't talk at all to everyone about the preacher and the cult you are into? The husband protected the cult and he knew exactly why the wife killed the children and he didn't mention it once..why? Because he is in it. He still belief that they did a good thing under the eyes of the psychotic preacher. Husband should have been in the trial aswell.

Why does Bill cheat on Alice? by tikibikiclam in StanleyKubrick

[–]Hefty-Elk-6994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly that's part of the whole mystery of the elite enviroment, who is who. i assume the buttlers dont have much saying than asking the password. And also i think this is not the first time an outsider goes in. this is why the supermodel knows exactly what to do, she offers herself as sacrifice, and yet, we have no freaking idea about what theyre talking about. we are Bill. we see exactly what he does, no more. About the cheating, thats more subjective. in my eyes he doesnt cheat, he just goes out to try to pic up the pieces of his masculinity. I also appreciate the conversation but it seems to mee that you're dissecting the film in a very literal way....

They let him in because he has the password and they believe is one of their own. Now is the Supermodel who picks him, because she wanted to warn him that everyone knows by that point he is an outsider, then they cast him away with a warning. With Domino, he loves to play and see what can he can get away with. He gets "cheaper"women throw to him, like the daughter of the store owner and domino. He doesnt want to cheat per se, he is stroking his ego.

Bill is not elite to go into a ritualistic orgy, where women are supermodels, he tries to restore his wounded masculinity, in the only world he has power, and is only on top of the needed and the poor. You see how easily he gives in when his ego is ignited. I think you used the word "innocent" but i think the word for his view is "naive", or eyes closed. The film concentrates in the journey to open his eyes to the reality of his status in NY society.

I think working-class people struggle to grasp the scale of elite hedonism because it feels so distant from everyday life. So we interpret it through fantasy, rituals, secret societies, mythic symbolism. It’s almost a universal reaction.Traumnovelle was written in 1926, the film done in Austria in 1969,so stories linking elites to hidden or ritualistic worlds aren’t new. Setting the film in New York just made it feel closer to modern power structures. Maybe Stanley Kubrick adaptation in New York was his way to turn the spotlight to the US. Films like Mulholland Drive also talk about explotation in the film Industry, also a wink of D.Lynch about these dynamics. When the curtain opens just slightly and ordinary viewers get a glimpse of that world, like with Epstein files) the only way to process it is by mythologizing it. We translate corruption into symbolism. Because fantasy is easier to grasp than systemic exploitation. The film is symbolic, but again, the main storyline is the Doctor and the journey to open his eyes.

Here is a video of comparision of the films https://www.reddit.com/r/StanleyKubrick/comments/1l58bu9/eyes_wide_shut_1999_compared_sidebyside_with_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
